Sandra’s Exit Interview – She Asked To Be Voted Off.

Sandra

Just I was thinking the MasterChef Australia tribal councils were starting to get nasty Sandra reveals in the a TV Week interview here that she asked to be voted out. She says she thought she knew there were strong alliances so she would not survive it anyway.

She also reveals there was a fair bit of socialising in the house:

And the negatives were being away from my family, living in the house with 20 people from all walks of life. I’m the type that would go into my room and not drink with them and read my books, and I don’t think they liked that. I think they would have preferred me to socialise with them and form a strong alliance from the beginning.

A pity we don’t get footage of this late night drinking and gibbering.

…and hopefully no ‘quail slapping’ as per BB.

Does this interview make me any more positively inclined towards Sandra? Not really. Again, the book plug and the obesity bandwagon. I wish her success but really I think it will be hard to achieve in the plethora of books already out there.

“I basically asked to be voted out. I knew they were going to vote me out anyway, so it was a catch-22 situation.”

I don’t think catch-22 means what you think it means, Sandra.

Really? So if Sandra asked to be voted out, does that mean the producers and/or the contestants purposely put on a show at the eliminations? Or else, why couldn’t they just tell Sandra as they voted her off, its because you asked us to, instead of saying you we the worse? I suspect there’s something fishy going on at the kitchens of Masterchef…

I think Sandra is just trying to save face. I’m sure she missed her family but I don’t think she left voluntarily. Although I’m sure she had a sense the end was near. And her exit interview doesn’t jive with what Geni said on the Masterclass epi (Friday) that the team had “analysed” the Observatory challenge and determined Sandra made the most mistakes. What a load of crock. I think Poh did a good job selling Geni and Andre on that story. I stand by my earlier theory that Poh got Andre and Geni to buy-in to the story that because Sandra didn’t help with her (Poh’s) and Andre’s cock ups, she wasn’t a team player, etc. etc. Sandra going off to her bedroom while the others stayed up till 2am drinking everynight helps explain why she was always picked last in challenges and got ganged up on in the end. I thought she (Sandra) was a former flight attendant. She doesn’t seem to have the outgoing personality and ability to deal with groups of people and different personalities that you usually find with flight attendants (at least the ones I’ve known).

ETA: how can they stay up until 2am drinking every night and “perform” and look “ok” on camera. or maybe this explains some of the shocking dishes we’ve seen?
