OPEN POST: MasterChef Australia – Julie Takes On The Chef

Julia gets her second go at beat the Chef. If she wins she will go straight into the final week, and avoid the elimination I presume will occur on Thursday.

Chances os her winning slight as it will stuff up the numbers for the final week.

Chat amongst yourselves and I will put a recap on the show later.

If Julie gets even close to pulling off this dish then she deserves to be in the competition. Did I hear right: she only gets 10mins advance start?

Having trouble focussing on eating my borek with all this talk of boning, and Justine’s opinion that Julie could well “pull this off”.

Yep, CG, 10 mins! I was surprised, too. That’s not even enough time for Adrian to give her advice…

Question: in julie’s recaps why is her right hand in what looks like plaster?

Injera, LOL. This guy is too obsessed with MEAT (“I see little lambs in xray!) A litle creepy. And no surprise Chris is enthralled.

Well spotted, nelly. Haven’t noticed it yet. I guess there will be blood. Something to look forward to? Although she’s through the meat-cutting part, so maybe it’s a burn.

Nelly: I didnt’ notice that (plasters). But we know Julie had cuts on her hands (multiple) from the crack-en-bouche challenge and then one single cut from Hong Kong. So could be leftover from HK or this session could have been taped a while ago?

Thank god I missed that Hannibal Lecter comment, CG! Did he really say that? I was probably too busy sniggering at the contextual “going down” line.

9 CG { 07.07.09 at 8:16 pm }

OUCH!

10 nelly { 07.07.09 at 8:17 pm }

yep, i was just thinking that! and that explains the plaster/bandages i saw!

Julie’s plate one. What does that mean, conspiracy theorists?

12 CG { 07.07.09 at 8:20 pm }

the doomed Plate #1?

13 Injera { 07.07.09 at 8:20 pm }

Nice one, CG! Just as I was typing…

Does George’s “really good effort” comment betray that he knows that this is Julie’s dish? Or is he just a patronising git? Or is his command of the nuance of language just weak?

15 CG { 07.07.09 at 8:21 pm }

actually they broke the Plate #1 theory last week, didn’t they?

their comments on Julie’s plate seem to imply they know it is hers…

George: “I struggled to get some sauce on my meat”. This is comedy gold!

17 CG { 07.07.09 at 8:24 pm }

they have to know which one is which based on the presentation…the chef dude’s lamb and potatoe donut were perfect…surprised Matty didn’t come up with another sexual reference…what was the latest…about someone in stillettos?

All the discussion of sauce reminds me of K-Rudd and his love of shaken’ of the sauce bottle ..?!

Maybe it’s subliminal ALP advertising.

Thanks, Sarah, for reminding us what we’ve just seen.

I’ve been in love with Adrian since he was so supportive with Jamie’s Kitchen’s chefs way back when.

He (Adrian) is really cute! Is he Aussie or British…?

21 Injera { 07.07.09 at 8:28 pm }

“…who know how to butcher, a beautiful dish”. George, that didn’t come out like I think you meant it to come out.

22 CG { 07.07.09 at 8:29 pm }

I have more respect for Julie after this…she deserves to be there more than Adrian and more than Poh for certain!

23 Injera { 07.07.09 at 8:30 pm }

Yeah, Chris doesn’t look convinced that Julie’s a threat. Watch out, Chris – you might not be indestructible…

24 CG { 07.07.09 at 8:30 pm }

did Julie just say she had a brain fart?

25 Injera { 07.07.09 at 8:30 pm }

CG – he’s Australian. Looks much better since he chopped off his Neil Perry. Check out the bio: http://www.chefsink.com/adrian.html

hmm, tonights show seemed so short! I haven’t had enough reality teevee…off to top model for the finale…!!

I’d like to see the judges served up a baloney sandwich because that”a what this show is. They wax lyrical over plate 1 and then award plate 2 more points. Again, of course, the contestant was plate 1. What a load of cobblers this show is becoming. Masterfarce indeed

The other half has just realised his language class is not on, so my ANTM viewing will be taken over by the Ashes. Will have to catch it on repeat!
