OPEN POST: MasterChef Australia – The Elimination Challenge – The Taste Test

I think most of us think the taste test at this stage of the competition is a travesty, as anyone can fluke a win, as seen by Sam.

Why two in two weeks, seems a bit lazy by the producers, can’t they think of another challenge for them to do.

If Andre wins I fear there will be fear and loathing in Australia.

Oh dear…if Chris is more experienced cooking curry…means he is probably gonna lose…you’re so tricky Ch10 (or rather Fremantle) editors…NOT! … what a joke if Mr. Pasta – goes thru and Chris doesn’t. I don’t like the guys style of cooking or his personal grungy style…but he is certainly a better cook than Andre and deserves to be in the top 4.

surprise! the process has got to the right answer two weeks in a row…first Sammo and now Andre. So much for Gordon Ramsay’s prediction! Now if we can get rid of Poh, I’m comfortable with the top 3: Justine, Julie and Chris. (oh, and of course Julia and Lucas…!)

GG-What did Gordon Ramsay predict?

Next season- come taste test time the first guesses will be salt and pepper…

Curry powder? CURRY POWDER??!!
What sort of an idiot would presume that a Sri, sorry, “Siri” Lankan curry would contain curry powder?

Jaynie, there were screams of disbelief all over Australia at that guess of Andre’s. And who’d have thought that George would be the one with accurate pronunciation tonight?

Did Emmanuel actually offer Andre a job, or is Ten spinning his friendly “if you’re ever in Singapore, come and say hi” line?

So relieved. Thought the editors were totally setting up a Chris loss with their fakeout double switch focus on Chris’ curry experience/Andre’s curry cluelessness.

And Poh? Get over it.

Gordon Ramsay predicted Andre for the win – and thinks he was the best contestant … and reminded him of his own self (Ramsay).

Forums are already saying who the supposed winner is… hoping they are wrong!

For the finale that is!

Andre didn’t curry any favour with this challenge.

That pathetic pun is especially for Injera.

I still don’t get why people don’t list basics like salt and pepper early on? And the meat?

Curry powder? Unbelievable. Deserved to go home for that one.

Thanks, Wurstsemmel! I’m going to start planning some puns in readiness for the Masterclass. Actually, just thinking about the Masterclass is sending me to sleep, so I might have to rely on you again…

I was surprised that nobody identified a meat, so just assumed it was a vegie curry. Salt and pepper, too. These people mustn’t debrief after challenges at all!

Love how you can say “stock” and get a yes, but you have to identify sweet paprika.

And what if he had just said chilli instead of red chilli?

Jacqui – I thought it was a bit weird that Chris said red chilli, why not just say chilli, if it had been a green one he would have been gone. With the editing Chris may have said chilli first time, and then they asked for more information and he had to pick a colour.

Injera – I wonder if they would have made them get specific with the paprika, considering Andre got away with just saying oil.

I agree freaking curry powder, as Sourkraut says we know Gary does not use pre-made ingredients…..
