Put Up Your Hand If You Have Not Jumped On The MasterChef Bandwagon

Well my hand has to say well and truly down, as at the moment every second post on this blog seems to have some MasterChef Australia hook in it.

But it would also appear the other commercial stations want to jump on the MasterChef Australia bandwagon with Channel Seven appearing to be commissioning a cooking show.

The article on http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,28383,25851637-10229,00.html says:

A Seven executive is quoted as telling B&T Today that the network intends to have its own cooking program by the end of the year in direct competition with the show that was a ratings juggernaut for Ten.

“The Seven executive confirmed it will launch something competitive in the market that will present a challenge to Ten’s series one success,” the magazine reported online.

Also Channel Nine are also working on a cooking show called The Great Aussie Cook-Off.

Thankfully Arena TV will start screening Top Chef Master’s  next Thursday 6 August at 7.30pm. Top Chef: Masters is an American reality competition show. In it, culinary professionals compete against each other in weekly challenges – a contrast from Top Chef, which features chefs that have been called relative “culinary amateurs”. MasterChef Australia took some aspects from this show for their challenges eg the wedding challenge.

Yah…Top Chef back on Fox next week.

All up better food, challenges and hot totty (yes, I’m talking Padma and Gail, not Tom) than MasterChef. Can’t wait.

culinary boner bad news Padma Lakshmi is not the host but Kelly Choi is. I am not sure which of the judges are in it as well.

I presume , being american “reality”, Top Chef Masters is similar to the amazing race meets survivor meets dance your ass off meets judge judy meets the iron chef?

not only is padma not in it, but gail only shows up every few episodes o.0. on the bright side judges for the competition so far have included the writers of lost, and neil patrick harris and the chefs are mostly top chef guest judges from past seasons I was hoping they would give previous top chef winners a shot but I dont think they can easily part with the 100k prize that will go to charity.

Last night Sam C was on Nova FM. Talk about flogging a dead horse. He has the personality of a dried apricot, and he was hawking his wares around Nova for a more regular gig. Novas lame plan was to get him to phone Subway shops 2 try and get a job. No luck 4 him their either. Poor little Sammy. Obviously not 2 many racing to sign him up or on.

Oh, you had me at Neil Patrick Harris! Will definitely be watching TC Masters.

Mastersam – “the personality of a dried apricot”. That is such a perfect description! Of course, I’d be exempting those delicious Angus Park dried apricots from the dried apricot descriptive set…

Neil Patrick Harris?! Hopefully he comes as the Neil Patrick Harris ‘Hetero-Shagmonster’ persona from the Harold and Kumar films, rather than as that soft-cock Doogie. Top Chef should go right to the top and give Kal Penn (Kumar) a spot, now he’s Obama’s director of community liaison.
