Paula Abdul Now Available For Australian Idol

paula-abdul

News in from the US is that Paula Idol has quit American Idol. She was a judge on the show for eight seasons. She won’t say why she is leaving.

But this is how I think it played out.

1. American Idol producers decide they have had enough of her zonked out/crazy behaviour.

2. Hire saner, younger and female fourth judge Kara DioGuardi for “one season”.

3. Negotiate with Kara to come back for another season for peanuts.

4. Offer Paula contract that is insultingly low, claiming Global Financial Crisis, and Simon Cowell’s astronomical pay demands.

5. Paula quits to save what little dignity she has left, and plays right into the hands of the producers.

6. American Idol does not hire a fourth person, but goes back to a three person panel.

Now Fremantle Media Australia and Channel Ten this is an opportunity to get Paula going crazy on our screens.

Ew, no. How could anyone handle Marcia AND Paula in one night?

Can we dump Marcia and have Paula instead? Not only do we get better jugs to perve on, but we are guaranteed some unscripted comedy value as Paul’s prescription meds kick in.

Culinary Boner – so agree, Paula does play the ‘nice’ judge, however she is not afraid to give criticism when it is deserved. However with the new 6.30pm timeslot I am not sure Channel Ten want a spaced out person on TV. Not a great look.

LOL, pretty much how that happened.

Looks as though American Idol is persisting with the yawn-fest that was the four judge panel. Instead of being happy that they had a “reserve” in the shape of Kara, they seem to be trying to replace Paula. The latest story doing the rounds is that the prods want to extend a two-show guest judge appearance by Posh Spice to a full-time gig. Oh, god. http://www.theage.com.au/lifestyle/people/victoria-beckham-to-join-american-idol-20090807-ebyc.html

Maybe now Paula can start choreographing/guest judging on So You Think You Can Dance!
I still think that they need a replacment for Paula on the judging panel. They need a bona fide music star – I know Kara is an amazing singer but she was never a star in her own right – and no Victoria Beckham does not meet the criteria!

Well it looks like Posh Spices long time relationship has come to fruition with a spot on America’s top rating TV program.
