Australian Idol And There Is Already Talk Of Lost Ratings

When I saw this article in the Daily Telegraph I thought it is a bit melodramatic to be talking all doom and gloom about a drop in ratings. Also particularly trying to hinge it on Kyle leaving.

There have been other changes which could have affected the ratings. After six years of people religiously sitting down at 7.30pm to watch the show, the time has now been changed to an earlier 6.30pm timeslot. Fans may not have realised there was a change, or it may be inconvenient to watch it at that time.

Channel Ten will have the opportunity to hook the viewers back in when the new judge is announced and we get to see him or her.

I don’t think we have to talk about the death of Australian Idol just yet.

Yeah, I don’t see the point in talking about the ratings until the actual performance shows. Most people I know skip the audition episodes, for many reasons.

I’m not sure why this is a surprise. I thought Idol has been slipping in the ratings in the past few series.
