Totally shat off that Kirk didn't win the last test, and overall.

Maybe Eamon's did taste better (I thought they were just being polite about his, until they came out with the massive scores)?
But it looked like a brightly coloured dog's breakfast.

Further to H's comment re Andrew McConnell's hair - i thought he looked like the weird guy from wedding crashes. maybe a little?

whilst the celebrity version wasn't as good as the original (how could it be), it was still a good show because the contestants were likeable and were genuinely put outside their comfort zone.

...while we're pulling things to bits....if I see that Matt handywipes ad again, I'll throw up something no amount of handywipe will cope with.

Seriously, Matt. Gone from kind of cool and sexy to gormless and offputting in the space of two minutes. That's no mean feat.

Oh, and another thought. Was George expecting rain last night? The trench coat jacket looked ridiculous. I'm surprised no one else has commented.

Glad you mentioned your conspiracy theory - as I am so there with you and was thinking the same thing the whole way through.

Also, the celebrity chicken chef really needs a new hairdresser. He's way too old to be trying to pull off a bad, bad emo 'do - it just comes off as creepy.

I was disappointed that Kirk didn't win. Eamon did well but did he really deseve 30 for the dessert? The problem I have with this format is that the judges are aware of the scores and so can easily manipulate who eventually wins.

Agree, way too many desserts in this contest and Rachael got far too much assistance (although, as suggested in earlier comments, could simply be editing). In the end, she plated up something that wasn't even her idea and I'm not sure that was fair at all.

Celebrity Masterchef has been 'okay' but I wouldn't sign up for series 2, nor for Kiddie Masterchef. Bring back the real thing before the whole concept goes off the boil.

It could just be editing but I thought it was terrible how much time Gary took in helping Rachel compared to the few comments the guys got, they didn't seem to be given any suggestions and he gave Rachel the idea of the semi fredo and made her the sample of the strawberry coulis & whatever it was mixed with.

I was wrapped that Eamon won, I was very impressed with him. I thought Kirk was great too.

You could see Eamon was going to win when he said "who will be a winner and who a loser", I don't think you talk like this of yourself when you have lost (not nice though for the other contestants).
Definitively, Rachel has been lucky as she has cooked mostly desserts (which seems to be her speciality).
I wanted Kirk to win. He was more entertaining to watch and clever comments. But also I believe Eamon cooked more complex dishes so well done to him.

Highlight of the finale for me: when Rachel started to cry she turned her back to the judges and wiggled her bum at them (quite the show I imagine given her tight white jeans). She must have been receiving coaching on the side from Poh!

The finale seemed fair and Eamon did appear to be the best of the bunch. As a former competitive swimmer (not to brag, but I was 4th in Canada in 100m breaststroke in my day...Ha!)...I can't believe he can cook. When you are a top flight swimmer you don't have time to do much else other than swim. He must have a great mum and/or grandmum who taught him how to cook when he was growing up.

So what is next: Kiddie MC... before Series 2 of regular MC?!
