I loved Irmgard. She seemed a lot of fun and, while it would have been great to see her stay a little longer, I can’t really reconcile that wish with the concept of Masterchef.

Sorry but this is Masterchef and not Big Brother. If she can’t cook, then out she goes. People complain that last season was too much like Big Brother and not enough cooking, now they want Irmgard to remain in the competition because of her personality. Very hypocritical.

Irmgard was a wannabe, who thought she had more skill than she really possessed. Her late husband was an executive chef for many years & that background, where she would also cook with him, should have made her ineligible for the show in the first place. I am glad she has gone leaving room for people who really want to experience food.

Her backstory was touching. She must have been a really rubbish cook for Masterchef not to exploit it.

I’d have loved to see more of Irmagard. Adds a bit of variety to all the pretty young things to have a feisty great grandma on the show. I liked that she talked back to Gary bringing up the pork/lamb debacle during the pavlova challenge.

And hers is a back story I find genuinely touching.
