Junior Masterchef Smacks Down The X Factor

The Masterchef love continues for the Junior version of the show with it debuting at 2.2 million viewers, it easily beat The X Factor which had 1,074 viewers.

Even if Junior Masterchef sheds 500,000 viewers it will still be a successful show. It definitely is out rating last year’s Celebrity Masterchef, so expect a second series next year. I am sure there will be a lot of parents wanting their kids on the show so they can get their hands on that fantastic scanpan set.

Also in a nicely timed PR exercise the tickets to Masterchef Live the stage show and festival are on sale now. Go to the official website to buy them.

No surprises here. The X-crement factor is un-effing-watchable.

We watched M/C (the four year old was in control of the remote last night) but flipped over to X Factor in the ad breaks. I am surprised how much I have managed to engage with the X Factor so far, despite the fact every time I see Kyle Sandilands I feel like vomiting. God he’s awful, but as my husband said, so clearly a victim of bullying who has grown up to be a bully himself.

A sad indictment of my culinary skills is that I was inspired by several of the dishes last night, if a 10 year old can make them, then surely so can I!

It was a necessary & expected win – but didn’t expect it by that much! Mind you – the rest of the ratings for Ch10 last night were far from awesome.

It’s going to mean the next few Sundays before the CommGames will be crucial to establish the Junior MasterChef brand, keeping the peeps hanging for it’s return.

I say: Bring. It. On. It was spectacular.
