Masterchef Australia To Stay On Ten Beyond 2012
Masterchef Australia fans will be happy to know there is no end it sight for the popular show, with it being announced that Ten and Shine Australia will continue to collaborate beyond 2012.
If they run out of ideas they can always have a Masterchef Australia All-Stars season.
The release says:
Network Ten and Shine Australia today announced a multi-year and multi-platform agreement for MasterChef Australia and associated extensions, which will see the country’s most successful television franchise remain at home on TEN from 2012 and beyond.
“This agreement with Shine Australia represents the commencement of an exciting new era in the relationship between Network Ten and Shine, as we seek to most effectively realise the full potential inherent in our content rights across multiple platforms including, but not limited to, broadcast, online, mobile and IPTV,” he [Ten CEO Grant Blackley said.
Shine also produces The Biggest Loser, Junior Masterchef, and the new show The Renovators. I wonder how Fremantle Australia feel about the loss of their big shows.
UPDATE: The Daily Telegraph reveals the three year deal is worth $150 million.
Industry sources claimed Shine Australia, which shopped around the franchise, sought a $20 million increase on top of last year’s deal, which was $25 million plus a $50,000 ratings bonus for each show that topped 1.5 million viewers.
