Vlog – Masterchef Australia – Should The Judges Stop The Touching?

This week’s blog discusses whether the touching of Ellie on Sunday night’s Masterchef Australia episode was appropriate.

Also The Amazing Race Australia and Jackie Frank’s new show Under The Cover is discussed.

I don’t know RR, I didn’t find Ellie’s double G sandwich that disturbing, what irks me more is the uneven distribution of hugs I guess. The judges all have their favourites, and this season it is Ellie hands down. FFS, poor Jay didn’t even get offered a tissue when he was in tears when told of his elimination. From my recollections the only male in all the series to be consoled with a hug was Callum. Maybe they have a soft spot for the young ones. No hugs for Peter or Kumar then I guess.

you are my sunbeam…. I dislike tears and group hugs on reality TV shows. Not necessary.

[…] is age appropriate, unlike the judges and Ellie. (See my thoughts on whether the judges should stop touching on my Vlog from yesterday.) […]

It is very obvious that the Old Dogs love the pretty young things. Although I don’t think Ellie is discouraging the hugs, rather it is a device employed by young female contestants to get favourable results. I was trying to picture Kumar getting a hug, but no. George for all his progressive cooking, is a very traditional kind of role-player in the gender game. Or should that be ‘gander geme’?
