The Renovators – The Alpha Male Of The Design Shows?

What is the difference between The Block and The Renovators, host of The Renovators Brendan Moar is shaggable, and Scott Cam is not.

IN the mosh pit that is design reality TV shows The Renovators is proclaiming that it is the biggest and the best.

And they could be right it could be the Alpha Male of the design shows currently on TV. The launch a couple of weeks certainly lived up to the hype. The space was huge, rumour has it will be the Masterchef Australia of the design shows, both in size and for Channel Ten’s sake in the ratings.

The Renovators premieres on Ten this Sunday at 8.30pm, and will be following each night on from Masterchef Australia next week.

What I like about the show, is the cast is new and fresh. This is the Channel who turned unknowns into George, Gary and Matt, no surnames required, so I have confidence in their casting.

Brendan Moar is host, some people will know him from the Lifestyle Channel, is going to find a plethora of new fans.

The other judges look great as well. We have Peter Ho from Phooey Architects who when speaking at the launch showed he had charisma and could keep it snappy. I am predicting him to be a big star from this, and he will do for facial hair what Matt Preston did for cravats.

Barry Dubois who is a builder will get a female following, as he told us he wasn’t a talker but was good with his hands. I am sure there is a damp course joke there but I am not going there.

Also Robyn Holt the editor of Vogue Living looks like she won’t be take any crap either, and will obviously have a fantastic design aesthetic.

How Does The Show Work?

It starts off with 26 contestants, and then they do a series of challenges to see who will get the keys to six different houses that need to be renovated. The first week will see people eliminated.

The winner will be the contestant responsible for the property that has increased most in value, they win the combined profit of each of the six houses after auction. Now that is potentially serious cash prize.

If you want to check out a preview go to www.renovatorstv.com.au

Also if you want to follow the show on Twitter @renovatorstv, and judge Peter Ho is on twitter at @PeterHoPhooey.

However this blog will have recaps and gossip on the show, and of course indepth analysis. Ok maybe once in the season you might get the indepth analysis.

What To Expect The First Week On The Show?

Sunday 24 July – 8.30pm

The contestants have to renovate a three bedroom house in the mega warehouse, and the first set of keys to a house will be won.

Monday 25 July – 8.40pm

The renovators are hammering a nail straight into a block of wood. This sounds easy, but I think this episode could be potentially quite funny.

Tuesday 26 July – 8.00pm

Two teams have to renovate two terraces prior to inspections, the team that increases the value the most wins.

Wednesday 27 July – 8.30pm

The teams have to “breathe new life” into old car parts from a rusty old car.

Thursday 28 July – 8.30pm

I will call this The Truman Show challenge have to renovate, decorate and landscape a fake house in a fake street in the warehouse.

This show is going to rock.

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Opera.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to
do with web browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know.
The design look great though! Hope you get the problem solved soon.

Thanks
