Odds For The Masterchef Australia Finale

Paul has done the Odds for the finale – and basically he is say it is an even playing field….

I like them both, but I for some reason I hope Michael wins. Oh and here is video clip from the SMH just me giving a two minute blurb on Masterchef Australia

Over to you Paul and thanks for doing the odds for Masterchef:

$1.90 Michael $1.90 Kate
Sorry, I just can’t split these two. They have proven to be the best two cooks on ability throughout the whole competition.
I think the final is a 3 course meal so that suits neither one nor the other as Michael is strong at mains whilst Kate is strong with desserts.
I actually like both contestants so don’t even have a favourite as far as personality is concerned either.
Should be a good finale’……

My money’s on Gary’s haircut

2 brain dead dave { 08.05.11 at 2:36 pm }

Freaky $1.90
Frumpy $1.90

3 EH { 08.05.11 at 3:31 pm }

I want to see Michael wins too but in reality Kate is more marketable.

4 Skod { 08.05.11 at 6:16 pm }

Michael and Gary could be cousins.

5 Pollywaffle { 08.05.11 at 9:38 pm }

Masterclass tonights most useless lesson by Shannon Bennett – edible charcoal? Go figure most of em know that dish

6 Reality Raver { 08.05.11 at 9:42 pm }

Pollywaffle – who would bother cooking it at home. Like the Danish cook Rene from NOMA who does edible dirt. Rene is going to be a guest judge on Sunday, but seriously I reckon 80% of the viewers would not have heard of him.

7 AnonyMousse { 08.05.11 at 9:49 pm }

Edible charcoal? That’s served up at BBQs all over Australia every summer weekend – otherwise known as over-cooked steak.

8 Ellie { 08.05.11 at 10:14 pm }

Where was Hayden tonight?

9 Joe { 08.05.11 at 10:29 pm }

Yeah, I noticed Hayden missing too- where was he?

10 alicia { 08.05.11 at 10:34 pm }

AWW poor michael he must be depressed that his “bestie” hayden didnt come to support him

11 Chookpea { 08.05.11 at 10:49 pm }

Apparently Hayden was ill the night they taped the masterclass. He will be there for the finale.

12 brain dead dave { 08.05.11 at 11:33 pm }

I don’t need a lame “Ma$terchef ” oven mit either.

What’s next? A Julie Goodwin scrubber?

13 Pollywaffle { 08.05.11 at 11:45 pm }

BDD the JG scrubber is excellent 4 cleaning dirty minds as per COW epi fiasco

14 brain dead dave { 08.05.11 at 11:54 pm }

Ha I’ve just been watching the Encore of that ,Pollywaffle albeit with the mute on. I assume she’d take a dim view of porn and she did look a tad flushed at one point in proceedings.

Dicko may have had some Warnesque renovations done,too.

15 Jo { 08.06.11 at 12:10 am }

I had no idea who Shannon Bennett was, but after the Masterclass viewing I don’t like him. He’s comes off as horribly smug.

16 Skod { 08.06.11 at 9:22 am }

Heh not-very-funny prank that they pulled on Mat (the contestant) for the friday programme..

17 Christina { 08.06.11 at 9:34 am }

Not a big fan of Michael, must admit. In the one on one interviews he is a wide eyed blue-eyed boy who talks about his dad alot, in the challenges he is just a bit too smug, a tad too sexist and way to much a hovering winner for my liking. He seems highly competitive, but hides it behind being daddy’s boy, which I simply cannot stomach.

18 littlepetal { 08.06.11 at 10:11 am }

Watch the interview 7PM project did with Kate and Michael. OMG. Michael bounces like George!!!

19 George { 08.06.11 at 10:31 am }

What are the odds for 2 cooking shows next yr????MasterChef format old-producers want people involvement….grapevine news….another show…”Top Notch Cuisine”reality game show. Interactive, studio audience (taste food, celebs, judges& viewer vote..twist..can you tell professional or amateur cook???

20 brain dead dave { 08.06.11 at 10:53 am }

That sounds a bit too much like Ready, Steady,Schlock.

21 Kaylen { 08.06.11 at 11:55 am }

AnonyMousse – thanks for the laugh. Was needed. 😉

22 brain dead dave { 08.06.11 at 12:51 pm }

Thanks for the banana shopping tips,too, AnonyMousse…I was salivating til you said “really early in the morning”.

23 criticism { 08.06.11 at 1:29 pm }

i’d prolly disagree. if you’re a casual cooking show watcher (i.e. watch something else other than masterchef), u probably should have heard of noma. if u follow the good food guide, it’s hard not to know shannon bennett and vue de monde

24 PollyB { 08.06.11 at 3:44 pm }

I reckon Shannon comes across as a bloke doing his job. I see it that he is focused on the job, not the theatrics/pantomime of MC, and perhaps he seems a bit arrogant. I like him. I like Rene too.

25 Susan { 08.06.11 at 6:57 pm }

Am conflicted – I live in Perth, should I get on the blog here live or wait …………… fark, decision’s, decisions!

26 brain dead dave { 08.06.11 at 8:32 pm }

Susan,get a plane to Sydney and just turn up at chez Ma$terchef on Sunday night. Tell the gorillas on the door that’s your bike outside.

Same here, if you’re not in the state where the live blog is, it can be hard to comment on material one hasn’t seen yet. Then again with Ma$terchef and the likely appalling levels of schmaltzy suspense in store, forewarned is forearmed.

27 Reality Raver { 08.07.11 at 10:05 am }

Susan and BDD – I know the time difference suck. It is a pity they don’t do the finale at 7.30pm and then pipe it live also to central and western australia. Obviously we will be happy to converse about the show we have already seen.

Also when the winner is announced I will put a huge gap between last sentence and the winner so you can bounce off the page before you get to it.

I was favouring Kate (though agree with Paul, can’t really pick between them) until I saw Michael wearing this :

Sorry Kate, the trendy glasses just don’t match up to an ALF t-shirt. So go Mikey!
