Reality Wrap Up – For Monday Evening

The first The X Factor live show was last night with the theme being judges choice. Some contestants did better then others, with judge Natalie Bassingthwaite attracting some criticism from the other judges about the songs she chose. However it is up to the public to decide who will suffer the ignominy of being the first person eliminated tonight at 7.30pm on Seven. Special guest performers on this episode will be Jack Vidgen and Bryan Adams.

The Renovators has turned into The Block with specific rooms being nominated for renovation and the contestants having to move into their houses by the end of the week. Also with only three weeks until the show finishes there will be no eliminations this week. There are twelve contestants remaining. Last night the master bedroom was judged and the inner city terrace (light blue team) won. Their prize was to pick the next room to be judge, they chose the bathroom.

Monday night’s Australia’s Next Top Model episode was censured by PETA because of the use of fur in the photoshoot. Judge Charlotte Dawson on her Facebook page wrote “I was unaware the girls would be styled using fur in this weeks shoot. I was disappointed at the decision and expressed this when I saw the shoot at elimination.” Twenty two year old Yolanda Hodgson was eliminated. There are nine girls left in the competition.

Celebrity Apprentice Australia will shoot the second challenge today in Sydney. The girls team will be at KFC at Mascot, while the guys will be at Northmead from 3pm-6pm. Both teams have been tweeting up a storm to try and attract support for their fundraising efforts.

Top Chef All Stars on Arena TV is down to the pointy end of proceedings with Richard Blais, Mike Isabella and Antonia Lofaso making it to top three.

Also on Arena TV Top Chef Masters Season 3 with Curtis Stone as host commenced. It was a confident start by Curtis with Atlanta chef Hugh Acheson eliminated. The judges have also been changed with popular Jay Rayner from the UK not being invited back because Bravo TV thought one foreign accent was enough. Ruth Reichl has also taken over from restaurant critic Gael Greene as a judge.

Yesterday The Amazing Race won the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition Program. Survivor host Jeff Probst continued his iron clad hold on the Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program, and Outstanding Reality Program went to Hoarders.
