Chris From The Amazing Race Says He Can’t Find Anyone Like Anastasia
Fans of The Amazing Race Australia will remember Chris and Anastasia the fighting couple. Well he really just yelled at her. The couple broke up shortly after the show aired.
TV Week have this cracker article in this week called Reality TV Ruined My Life and he was in it, and he still comes across as a tool.
The article states:
When Chris Pselletes signed up to The Amazing Race Australia with his girlfriend, Anastasia Drimousis, he had no idea that by the time the show finished airing, he’d be a single man.
“It was heartbreaking for me,” Chris 23 reveals to TV WEEK.
He admits the show put pressure on their relationship – and it didn’t help that the nation was hating him thanks to certain scenes with Anastasia, 21, during the race.
“I’ll always be remembered as the villain,” Chris says. “[The show] was focused around the idea of what I did wrong. It kind of makes it seem like I did that all the time, but you’re not meant to produce entertainment.”
Meanwhile, Anastasia’s biggest regret is how they were portrayed as a couple.
“Chris and I fought so much – we should have controlled our tempers more,” says Anastasia, who flew off a quad bike during a challenge.
“I have a massive scar under my knee. It’s a constant reminder of what happened. It’s like a battle wound, so I don’t forget about it,” she adds.
The strain placed on the pair’s relationship during filming only intensified once the show began airing.
“The break-up was influenced not by me or Anastasia, but other influences, [which was mainly] family,” Chris says.
While he won’t delve into the split, Chris says loneliness led to him finding a new hobby in body building.
“[At the time] my life was turned upside down and the only thing I had that was consistent was my family and my work. I thought ‘OK, what am I going to spend my time on to get my head out of all this stuff?’, so I figured I’d try body building,” he says.
As for dating, Chris says it’ll be hard to match what he had with Anastasia.
“I’m meeting a lot of girls, but to say I respect them in a way I respected Anastasia, that’s unlikely….” he admits.
The last sentence disturbs me – does he have a Madonna/whore complex?
