Elle Macpherson Won’t Be The New Host Of Australia’s Next Top Model
Scratch Elle Macpherson’s name off the list to replace Sarah Murdoch of host of Australia’s Next Top Model, as she has signed onto the US reality show Fashion Star.
The Herald Sun reports:
SUPERMODEL Elle Macpherson has effectively ruled herself out of hosting Australia’s Next Top Model.
Macpherson has signed up for the New York-based Project Runway rival, Fashion Star.
The Australian known as “The Body” was one of the favourites to take over the locally produced model quest after host and executive producer Sarah Murdoch resigned last month.
But Macpherson instead has decided to front Fashion Star, where 12 wannabe designers compete to win a multi-million dollar contract to launch their line in America’s biggest retail stores.
The mother of two, who is holidaying in Byron Bay, is also host of Britain’s Next Top Model, leaving little room in her schedule for another show.
Other hosting favourite, Miranda Kerr, also looks less likely after her husband Orlando Bloom signed on for two British movies next year – the thriller Cities, with Kirsten Dunst and Clive Owen, and The Laureate.
The tightknit couple tend to travel together to maximise time with son Flynn.
Liz Hurley, Alyssa Sutherland and Kirsty Hinze are among names understood to be in contention for the plum Australia’s Next Top Model role.
A Foxtel spokeswoman said no decision would be made for several weeks, at least.
Fashion Star also has Jessica Simpson and Nicole Ritchie in it as mentors. There is no news yet whether this new reality series will be shown in Australia. The show will premiere in the US in March.
I note from the photo above that Elle’s looks are defying age, and also Nicole Ritchie must not be happy with this shot.
