MegaTruckers – to launch Foxtel’s New A&E Channel

The new channel focuses largely on unscripted, real-life series and high-stakes programs that aim to thrill. As you can probably guess the channel’s programming below is aimed at the male demographic with similar programming to 7MATE though Foxtel told Reality Ravings that they have the first run at the series.

A&E kicks off with the premiere of Aussie doco special, MegaTruckers this Thursday, February 16 at 6.30pm on HD Channel 607 (and SD Channel 230).  The new factual and entertainment channel promises to deliver hundreds of hours of original and exclusive programs from US cable giant A+E Networks. Its upcoming schedule includes Australian premiere seasons of Storage Wars, Storage Wars Texas, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Billy the Exterminator, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Swamp People, Axe Men and IRT: Deadliest Roads.

The one-hour premiere of MegaTruckers appears promising now that it’s being developed into a full-fledged series. The show follows blue collar man Jon Kelly and his entourage of ‘hard-as-nails’ drivers on an unforgiving trek across Australia’s sunburnt country. The team of haulers will transport some of the world’s largest and heaviest loads, and it won’t be easy.

Catch the launch of Foxtel’s new channel, A&E this Thursday, February 16 at 6.30pm.

Welcome aboard Anthony.

Good to see that you might cover for Raver’s all too obvious blind spot on the many, many genre-bustin’ blokey reality shows us guys we need updates on. Looking forward to your review of Hillbilly Handfishing. Keep it going.

Hillbilly Handfishin’? Is that a real show? (With a title like that, it must be!)

Mega Trucker’s .. What a fantastic program, Its not just a guy show either boy’s! Well done to all the brilliant hard work you all achieved! It takes an intelligent, take no risk man to run a company like this, you should be proud of the great work your men achieved also, its like watching a scary movie hoping nothing goes horribly wrong (like going of a bridge into the creek!) Mr Jon Kelly Thank you for something different to watch! Can’t wait for next weeks show. Congratulations from my family to yours. Your new No’1 fans..Rhonda Todd Dale & Ally Blackwell, Newcastle NSW.

the one episode of mega truckers we got was brilliant. It’s not just for blokes, us females love it too. Both my husband and i are truck drivers & we know the shit you go through on the road, doin interstate, time slots, permits etc. So i can definately relate to this show. Good on em for showing the public what truck driven is all about. My only complaint is WHEN IS THE SHOW GOING TO BE ASSIGNED A REGULAR TIME SLOT???? AUSTAR SHOWED THE PREMIER EPISODE AND THATS IT. BRING IT ON
:-)

The only bad fit is Dog the bounty hunter and his band of loser freak family.
The other shows are entertaining, show guts intelligence and knowledge.
Mutt the muckhound and his insensere commentary and invoking of god to help him is almost blasphemous.
