Reality TV – Is One Way Of Getting On Is To Be Related To Someone Famous?
At the moment a surefire way to get through to the audition round to sing in front of the judges on a reality TV talent show is to be related to somebody famous.
We saw it on American Idol where Jim Carrey’s daughter, Jane auditioned and got through to Hollywood Week but was then eliminated.
However news from Richard Clune’s column in the Sunday Telegraph suggests this is also a trend on The Voice which started filming last week.
A PRODUCTION source on Nine’s The Voice outed a few familial surnames to have performed before the judges last week.
Jimmy Barnes’ daughter Mahalia (formerly of the Tin Lids), Guy Sebastian’s younger brother Chris and Kate DeAraugo’s little sister are said to have spent time on stage.
We won’t spoil the surprise and detail who went through and who failed to impress vocal coaches Delta Goodrem, Seal, Joel Madden and Keith Urban.
If you are not related to someone famous maybe be a friend or have slept with someone famous may do the trick.
