My Kitchen Rules Format Sold To USA
My Kitchen Rules continues to be the gift that keeps on giving for Channel Seven with news that Kinetic Content has picked up the U.S. rights to the hit reality TV show.
Deadline reports the deal was stitched up at MIP-TV.
They article states:
Chris Coelen’s Kinetic Content has picked up the U.S. rights to the hit Australian reality formatMy Kitchen Rules. The deal was made at MIP-TV, which is wrapping in Cannes. MKR is now in its third season on Australia’s Seven network, consistently averaging over 40% audience share, with MKR episodes ranking as 11 of the country’s top 20 highest-rated TV broadcasts in 2012, outperforming local versions of The X Factorand Dancing With The Stars.
I love the way they say it ranked 11 of the 20 highest-rated TV broadcast when less then three months of the ratings year has gone.
A big congratulations to Channel Seven, it is a great format and deserves to be sold overseas. I wonder if Curtis Stone will turn up as a judge on the US version of the show.
Thanks to @popcornjunkies for alerting me to this.
