The Voice Australia highlights – Karise Eden
Karise Eden blew the house down on Sunday night, with a rendition of ‘It’s a Man’s World’. The 19 year-old from the Central Coast, New South Wales auditioned for The Voice, with the support from her foster family. Her passion for music was only truly realised after being fostered by a loving family following years of living in refuges. Though she’s never had any musical training, Karise has become an experienced performer through singing at many music festivals and community events and clubs.
Her musical talents have also been shared on YouTube, where she’s uploaded many videos on her page r0sexoxo (the ‘o’ in rose is a zero), featuring her powerful, husky voice. Here’s Karise singing ‘Me & Bobby Gee’ by Janis Joplin, which is more upbeat and light-hearted than her audition song on The Voice:
Karise has also performed under the name, Karise Higgins, and competed in the SeaFM Discovered competition for aspiring musicians in late 2011. Here she is singing ‘Don’t Cry’ by Guns n Roses in heat 1:
Karise was also featured on Carols for Charity, a Christmas compilation album released in December last year. You can listen to her singing ‘Amazing Grace’ here.
And also check out her audition song on The Voice, if you haven’t already! ‘It’s a Man’s World’:
