The Voice Australia highlights – Yshrael Pascual
33 year-old Yshrael Pascual sure brought the funk to the stage during his blind audition on The Voice, singing ‘Miss You’ by the Rolling Stones, while his partner and mother watched proudly from backstage. The Philipines-born Melbourne local lists Michael and Janet Jackson, along with Stevie Wonder and 70s soul/funk bands as his biggest musical inspirations.
Prior to The Voice, Yshrael was part of an R&B vocal group called 4té (pronounced Forté) and was given the opportunity to work in the States, where they performed at many venues. Since returning to Australia, Yshrael has been trying to launch a solo career and could very well find his greatest success through Nine’s singing competition.
And like many contestants on the show, he has been sharing his talents on YouTube, through his account yshrael5. His latest video on the page is in fact his original audition clip for The Voice, which was posted six months ago! Check out his cover of ‘Blame It On the Boogie’ here:
Here’s another video from Yshrael’s page – a live performance of ‘Feeling Good’ – which was uploaded more than a year ago:
You can also stay updated with Yshrael via Twitter through @ysh05, where he himself is keeping up with the buzz of The Voice while currently working in Los Angeles.
If you want to watch his on-stage audition in front of the four judges, have a browse of the videos on the official The Voice website here. The official YouTube page for the show has uploaded some of the audition performances, but Yshrael’s is not one of them.
Yshrael is on Team Seal.
