WAGs, The Shire goes global and MasterChef’s Victorian showcase

Terry Biviano of WAG Nation dined at the Chiswick in Woollahra for an interview with Kate Waterhouse for Fairfax. If you’ve found yourself cringing whilst watching, you’re not alone – Terry revealed that she was uncomfortable in front of the camera and does not enjoy watching the show back.  She also says that she took a fair bit of convincing before agreeing to participate, and is not a fan of the show’s title.

The Age reports that Network Ten and Shine are in talks to sell The Shire in the UK.

Matt Campbell, the managing director of the production company behind The Shire, Shine Australia, denied The Shire would damage Australia’s image abroad.

Phew.  We can all rest easy, now.

Get ready for a Victorian onslaught when MasterChef launches.  The first seven episodes will be based in Vic, thanks to a partnership between Tourism Victoria and Network Ten.  And in case Sydney-siders miss the product placement within the show, our Tourism and Major Events minister promises ads for Melbourne will screen during the show in the Harbour city.

Injera, selling The Shire to the poms is a positive in my opinion.

It’ll help fill in the blanks Neighbours left and shine a light on a veritable “promised land” for the exodus of disgruntled anglo-saxon refos from Old Blighty we continue to hear about in the media –

Jellied eel on Cronulla beach anyone? Pork pies at Shark Park?

The current inhabits of the ghetto will no doubt welcome such new arrivals with open arms. I wonder why?

CB, I wonder if we can get some sort of competitive dramality semi-script-off to bid for cashed up Brits. Although I think Spain’s entry to that might be the Majorca Grand Designs episode…
