Channel NINE Apologises For THAT Celebrity Apprentice Tweet

Channel NINE apologised yesterday for the TWEET that made to air in last Thursday night’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice Australia. See previous blog post here.

During Thursday night’s show “The receptionist on #celebapprentice is still working on that spreadsheet?? She must have got her job spreading between the sheets I suspect,” it read.

The Daily Telegraph state:

A Nine spokesman yesterday said broadcasting the tweet was an error and had “slipped” past their social media monitoring.

“Unfortunately, the racy tweet slipped through our censorship net post 9.30pm,” he said.

“The Nine social media team apologised to Caitlin who was not concerned at all.”

I am not sure the issue was that Caitlin would be insulted she was just playing a role, but it does raise the issue of gray area about what could be deemed “humorous” online can be offensive when place on TV.

You can’t blame the desk jockeys in the social media monitoring suite for falling asleep during Celebrity Apprentice.

If the racy tweet had been directed at one of the D listers on the show, I don’t know if it might have “slipped” past censorship so easily. Ch9 seriously expect the viewer to swallow that yellow brick load.

“racy tweet” – *snigger*
Next time I’m making sexist comments (borderline or otherwise) I’ll just pass them off to everyone as being “racy”. FFS I’ll just pretend it’s 19-fucking-75.
Are Nine’s PR team reffos from ‘News of the World’ or ‘The Sun’ where paedophiles get called “pervs” and every girl aged 17 to 28 who makes an appearance in the paper is labelled “saucy” (oh, unless she’s a rioter or a single mum).
“Racy”? Disingenuous adjective of the year. And “slipped” wins disingenuous verb of the year.
This ‘spin’ only makes them look like the buffoons they obviously are. Why not just admit to being lazy, stupid and incompetent?
Can’t go wrong with an admission that lives up to both expectations and reality.

:-) Charlotte won’t be winning this game :-)

How about Vince ‘the comedian’ having a sook while he was awaiting his fate – no wonder he’s not funny.
