Celebrity Apprentice – Dicko and Nathan Will Be Duking It Out

Last night the remaining four were fighting it out to be the final team standing on Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

Mark Bouris took pity on the two young guns Nathan and Lauren and pair one each with Dicko and Ben Dark. The challenge was to write a song for to showcase a feel good message.

The problem with this challenge was that not much drama can come from sitting around a table writing a song. Well props to Ben Dark for trying to create some with his mentor John Paul Young. Ben was getting peeved that John Paul was not singing the song loud enough to show them how it was really going to sound. And he finally sheepishly sang it on camera. For a moment there was nearly a Deni Hines moment in the making.

Dicko’s team had a female singer, but it was not Deni, probably someone who is currently on The Voice.

Even though John Paul lay down the track, Ben and Lauryn did not like the result and decided to sing it themselves.  Probably not the best decision but said a lot about JPY’s vocals these days.

Both teams reference “Change The World” and Band-Aid, but the only the plagarism I could pick up was the riff on Dicko and Nathan’s song which sounded vaguely like the Black Eyed Peas “I’ve Got A Feeling”. Anyway don’t expect to see either of those songs on iTunes anytime soon.

Ben Dark and Lauryn Eagle were fired. Ben thought he was winner anyway and in someways he was. He is one of the few that came out with his reputation intact. He appears to be a difficult personality however he did get the job done.

Lauryn Eagle who showed a lot of moxie on the show, will continue to have a media career.

Here is an interview I did with her at Fashion Week where she talks about her feud with Tania Zaetta.

Lauryn is a winner just like the feel-good impression Jacinta left its viewers. Fresher than the has-beens. Never watched that travel show Ben was on as I found him annoying – now, I see more of his core values and a different side of him

Seriously, the boardroom part of this episode was just about the most unrelentingly boring TV screened in quite some time.
I was waiting for them to all start singing Kumbaya.
Aside from a confidence-sapping mid-life crisis, Dicko needs to now go the whole hog and admit to drooping performance amongst the bedsheets, so he can snare himself a Viagra or horny goat weed endorsement contract.

The whole thing was missing the delicious drama created last year by an out-there nutjob contestant, in this case Deni.

Perhaps they shouldn’t have sacked that batshit crazy Charlotte Dawson last week.

CB – even on a combined worst day, I don’t think Charlotte, Tania or Aker would come anywhere near the benchmark set last year by Deni and Jason (I’ve produced 468 shows this year) Coleman. Pity.

Oh Georgie, how could I forget Jason C’s snivelling, boot-licking performance.
That was reality TV gold of the highest order.
Perhaps they should just forget this year’s finale and repeat the best of Jase and Deni instead?

*gives ‘imself an uppercut for not properly honouring the memory of Jason Coleman, Celebrity Apprentice Superstar*

Yeah CB – I remember you unjustly roped Baldrick into that snivelling, hand-ringing foray. Give ya’self an uppercut from me too.

The boardroom is particularly boring this season.
I blame Bouris who, whilst being easy on the eye is also quite easy in the boardroom.
He really needs to make the contestants sweat a bit.

This is not the MUST SEE season it was last year

I can’t wait for this to be over so I don’t have to lay eyes on the smug, self-satisfield face of Dicko one more time. I just don’t get how sexist, garrulous and ego driven people like Dicko are the ones most likely to be rewarded. Don’t the board members have the nous to see past that or is that truly reflective of industry today? Dicko said he was mentoring Nathan..bwhaha .. in every shot he shoved him out of the limelight. Yeah – you really want a mentor like that. And what was the garbage the other night about not having a woman in the driver’s seat. What century is he still operating in ffs. Back of your head Dicko is what I’m looking forward to seeing.

I thought Lauren was very emotionally immature and really an embarassement for both women and the younger generation. Tania, whilst annnoying, showed a lot more class and style than Lauren. After Tania was eliminated I stopped watching this show.

I watched the first ep of this and was bored to tears, so I didnt watch another TILL I saw Paul Gray from Wa Wa Nee on the ad. So I watched again…..ended up fast forwarding though everything that Paul was not in…. This is nowhere near as good as last time

I agree with you Suziekue. And I had completely forgotten about ole JC. TV gold. I wonder where he is now! God I hope Nathan wins.

Have you all forgotten Max “He’s a coke addict!!” Markson? They really missed the mark this series. I lasted one and a half episodes before I was dead with boredom.

Dicko is doing it from the gut.

Not up to last year’s standard. Ch 9 -you’re fired.
