The Voice Australia – The Judges Decide Who Will Go Into The Final

The four finalists would be announced on  The Voice Australia Monday night’s show and this means there will be no public vote on who will get into the final to get the shot at winning the $100,000 and the recording contract.

This is a little confusing as on all the live performance shows the singer with the highest public vote has been safe.

However on Monday night the top two from each team will perform and then the coach will decide who they are putting through.

I see advantages and disadvantages with this format and it is a bit confusing for the viewer as some weeks they vote and others they don’t.

The advantage is the coaches can put through the best singer not having to worry about the biases of the public vote, yes teen girls I am looking at you…

However they may still put forward the person they think is the best able to win. If Diana Rouvas gets into the top two of Team Keith this is her best chance of making the final ahead of Darren Percival.

Conversely the format will see singers like Brittany Cairns, Layken Heperi and Fatai V struggle to make the final four.

Brittany, and Layken have a high public vote but do not have the memorable performances to back it up. Brittany in particular if she does make it top two in Team Keith will find it difficult to get Keith to pick her ahead of Darren Percival.

Also Seal has said he thinks Karise is the most talented on his team so even if she does not do a huge performance on Monday night he is likely to pick her ahead of Fatai V, who has given flawless performance after flawless performance.

I doubt Delta Goodrem will decide to pick her back up singer Glenn Cunningham ahead of the very popular Rachael Leahcar, even though it could be argued he has the better voice….. Also how controversial would it be if she did just that?

The format does not change my predictions I made in a previous blog post on who I think will make the final and the good news in after next Sunday’s grand final it is the public who will get to decide the winner.

If Delta picks Glen there will be a huge backlash…and I’m guessing he knows his time will come to an end this week

But if you were a judge, wanting to win the show, would you still put through a Lakyn, knowing he is capable of pulling the mega teen vote for the overall win, even though he can’t sing to save himself? Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Meanwhile Darren is in the top 10 on itunes this week, surely he is going to the final, Brittany’s Hillsong voting bloc can’t swing that for her at this point, I don’t think.

The two interesting decisions this week on The Voice is who will Keith take into his top two – Brittany or Diana if the Darren gets the highest number of votes. And the other one is who will Joel put through to the finals Sarah or Lakyn? Though he may dump Lakyn and not even put him into his top two if he does not get the high public vote.

checked the itunes chart earlier in the week and darren was actually no. 1. interestingly the top seller from team joel was neither sarah nor lakyn. it was ben.

carrot – interesting I was wondering if there would be a shock and Ben might just be it. He did get the last singing spot which always helps and a good song.
