The Amazing Race Australia – Cuba Continued

The two hour penalty that Joseph and Grace received at the interim pit stop was like being hit with wet lettuce. As the next challenge was a roadblock that did not start until the morning they caught up.

The leg was run again in Cuba, the first time the show has been in the country, so why not milk it for two episodes arranging it must have been a logistical nightmare.

A few comments on the episode:

  • On the fishing roadblock, it was hilarious when Jo was dry wretching because she was sea sick and Michelle says to her “put you head over the side dickhead.”
  • Were the contestants also in the running to be on The Shire, none of them had heard of Che nor could they pronounce it. Props to Sarah who knew it was the guy on the t-shirt;
  • Interesting when Paul and Steve went up the stairs at the hotel there were people standing on the stairwells not moving, but when Sticky and Sam got there there was no one. Maybe they were wanting people to catch up with Paul and Steve who have won the last three legs.
  • Grace wanted to do the Daquiri detour with Joseph not keen to and when she dropped her tray he told her that was the last time she would be making a decision;
  • Grace’s pathetic apology. She talks big to the camera but crumbled in front of Sarah, good on Sarah for not buying it;
  • Sticky and Sam were about the only team not to pay for a taxi driver to show them the way to the motorway to get to Australia – big mistake they got seriously lost and therefore eliminated.

Paul and Steve were first to the pitstop again, hopefully they will get pegged back next leg otherwise it is going to get boring.

The finish order:

1. Paul and Steve (Won holiday to Queenstown, NZ)

2. Shane and Andrew

3.  Michelle and Jo

4. James and Sarah

5. Lucy and Emilia

6. Joseph and Grace

7. Sticky and Sam (eliminated)

Next week Vancouver, Canada we are into the last four episodes.

Thanks RR – you are a legend, pumping out these recaps like no-ones business!

Pissed myself too when Jo was dry retching – felt sorry for her but man, it was funny. Love seeing the portrayal of these two – first looks are certainly deceiving and I really do hope they win now!

Bout time those coppers caught up too – hope they give Paul and Steve a run for their money in coming weeks – along with the girls!!

Grace is pathetic, like ya said, all talk and no action – Go Sarah!

Karma is a bitch Grace, Stinky managed the tray. Yeah, the twins are great and giving Paul and Steve a real run, lol

It was a great look at Cuba. One of the last frontiers really. It makes me wonder what kind of place Joseph and Grace grew up in when he can say you’re not making anymore decisions and she can say (last week) that a wife must be able to cook otherwise what good is she…
Still, fantastic show. Hope the Italian sisters win from behind

So funny, Michelle calling Jo a dickhead. Siblings. So sad to see Sam & Sticky leave. And I couldn’t believe they didn’t seem to know about Che. No more attention for Grace, vile creature. At this stage I don’t mind who wins, as long as it’s not Joe & his sister.

I am really hoping Lucy & Emilia come from behind and take this whole thing out, because i think other then the cheerleaders they are the only likeable ones left!

TAR Is my favourite Reality show next to Big Brother and Survior!

RR – Do you think the ratings are high enough for another season? This show is the most underrated show on tv today i think.

Fuming that Joseph and Grace’s penalty was given at the mid-leg pitstop – not at the elimination pitstop, rendering it pointless. Noticed that as there were only 7 teams, boat departure times were conveniently manipulated so the last two teams would double up so no 1 team would lag behind. Another reason why the penalty was utterly pointless at that point in the leg. Was a pathetic show-down between Sarah and Grace. I expected more from Sarah, she harps on James enough. Grace needs that slap – unpleasant girl. I have my preferences but am happy for any team to win other than Grace.

Agreed PollyB – she is so damn frustrating!

How good are the Italian sisters doing?

Disappointed to see that it not back on now till Aug 18 – must be a break during Olympics!!!
