The X Factor – A Mel B and Nat B Catfight.

Brighton Star was an attractive 20 year old musical theatre performer, was causing friction between Mel B and Natalie Bassingthwaite. Mel B thought she was too cheesey, funny I thought I saw some former Spice Girl moves in there. Her vocals were not great and the judges would not have been so positive if she had not been so cute.

Nat B tried to tell Mel B that she did not get musical theatre, implying to her that she does. However then Mel B said “I have done musical theatre as well….Rent on Broadway!”. Sorry Nat B nice try but that does beat Rent at the Theatre Royal.

Brighton was put through to boot camp and with the right song choice might sound OK.

Trent Bell who has turned up every year to audition, again decided to give it another crack. The first year he made it to boot camp, then the following year he made it to New York. So he was back to give it a try again. Have to say he was OK but not memorable, maybe he might get into the One Direction band.

Morgan Sheila from Taree lives in a pub in Redfern and is living off food packages. She gave off a Karise Eden vibe and sound. Not sure why she can’t get casual work, her voice was OK but this was no star in the making.

Tabatha Ramage a 23 year old who can sing disco is Timomatic’s sister. She did not hit it out of the ball park, but with vocal coaching giving her voice bit more discipline she could be an interesting contestant.

Chris Cayzer  a 25 year old former soap opera actor in the Phillipines wants to be a pop star. His audition of 1000 miles was ordinary, but considering the lack of talent in the over 25’s so far it was smart to put him through. There was some word that he might be OK in the boy band,  but isn’t he far too old?

Carmelo Munzone who looked like he was going to be a joke contestant was one of the best voices of the night as well as one of the best personalities. He is dorky cute he could be the surprise package of the series.

Totally agree with Mel B on this one, that performance was cheesy & the vocals were not great….although that may have something to do with the song choice more than her abilities. Anyway, Nat Bass needs to do some research on her fellow judges prior to making assumptions!! Loved Mel B’s response!

And I also agree with Mel B. Hope she gave Natalie a good verbal thumping after the show for calling her jealous. How childish. If that girl hadn’t been a pretty blond she would never have been passed. She was gratingly cheesy (although one could say the same of the Spice Girls…). Totally blown away by Carmelo though. Who’d have thought?

Mel B was spot on. Brighton can’t sing in tune and should have been called on it. Nat, Ronan and Guy Sebastian are either incompetent judges not to hear that or have taken a dive and put her through only on her looks.

Hold the phone…

People still watch X-Factor?

5 Culinary Boner { 08.28.12 at 3:02 pm }

I’d watch solely for Natalie B’s sensational cheekbones… if it weren’t for the crap singing.

Hell yeah, people are still watching X Factor. I believe it rated 1,385,000 last night. Just keep the mute button and a bucket handy. Like Boner, I’m prone to drooling over Nat Bass, too.

Beige Brother rated 1,102,000, incidentally.

Yeah Ari, I watch it . In my opinion its much better than” The Voice “and you never know, we might find another Altiyan!!!! ( even though on all the promos he’s never existed )
Its more interesting, we get older people and groups as well, so much more variety than The Voice.

Watch X Factor and you can find yourself spinning around in your own chair, at home, throwing up.

Love Mel B’s honesty, that audition was terrible,
Cannot believe that Guy went along with it. Just wondering, did the Judges feel they would be upset others in the industry. Brighton came out on stage and said she was in the stage show “Hair Spray” didn’t Jason Colman produce Hairspray here in Aus ?, Nat B worked with Jason Coleman on SYTYCD , perhaps there was a degree of loyalty to him that she could hardly say that one of his performers could not even cut it making xfactor’s bootcamp ? .
The show has been great so far , some wonderful talent.

Nat B’s quick deflection “oh really so how was that…”” only showed how needy and how scared she is of confrontation. priceless and gutless.
