Survivor Philippines Coming Soon To NINE And Three New Players Return

The good news last week NINE Network advertised that Survivor Philippines would be coming soon on our screens. Hopefully they are saying what they mean and it really is coming soon.

It started in the US last week.

This time around the cast includes three former cast members all of whom were medically evacuated from the show.  They include one of my favourites Jonathan Penner, the slightly mad Michael Skupin from Survivor Australia who fell into a fire, and Russell Swan who was medically evacuated from Survivor Samoa for severe dehydration.

The other interesting cast member amongst the former beauty queens and footballers is Lisa Whelchel who played Blair in the Facts Of Life. She is a hard core Christian but thankfully has stated she doesn’t think God cares who wins Survivor or wins challenges. Though this may be an excuse herself for when she inevitably lies and schemes on the show.

Here is an interesting interview with host of Survivor Jeff Probst where he talks about the show, and the year he nearly quit.

I’ve seen the first episode already I won’t give anything away but this season has a lot of potential to be really interesting and not as predictable as one world which was so boring after Colton left….

What?!
A reality show in which 40% of the contestants are over thirty and 4 are over forty.
These yank networks clearly need an intervention from the best-and brightest at Nine, Ten, Seven, Shine and Freemantle to stop this rot.

Waiting for someone to say to Lisa “You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life”

Survivor is the fundamental supreme height of perfection to reality TV fans – so it is unlikely few of us who follow this blog wait until 9 airs it.

CB, agree with you, the age group is between 20 and 53, take note BB producers of how to put together a diverse group of people!
This is what you need to do to produce a successful reality show, listen to us the fans!
Survivor has been going for many years so they must be doing something right.
We can only hope that channel 9 put this on soon and not too late at night like they normally do.

Channel 9 airing Survivor soon? I’m not holding my breath. Isn’t that what we were told constantly about One World? But then again considering how boring that season became after Colton was evacuated due to karma, I couldn’t stop moe-ning over the stupidity of the men. :)

Haven’t watched the season yet but I think the chances are high that Blair will align herself with Michael given that he too is a born again Christian. She would be smart to do that because if the tribe never seems, to be living up to her dreams. Then suddenly she’s finding out, the facts of tribal is all about her (all about her)… 😛

And RR you must have excellent taste because Penner is also one of Dimple’s favourite man-crushes. If you look carefully in almost every reunion show, he, Coach, Boston Rob, and Evil Russell are usually in the crowd. No coincidence then that they have now all played the game three times.

Roxanne Morris must be a Christian too because she’s listed as a ‘Seminary student’. A seminary is a college for training clergy.

JStar, good to hear from you, get ready for another Survivor!
Looking forward to your great recaps ( still waiting for the one from finale of last season hah hah! )

Yep, Georgie, she’s a God Botherer of Biblical Proportions…

“Roxanne says: ‘I think I’ll win because God didn’t bring me all this way not to win. That’s how I see it.’ ”
With fanatical, self-centred followers like this, who’d be God?
Hopefully she’s 1st out, while this particular chicky babe goes all the way. Well, metaphorically anyway…

Ha, I remeber Jeff Kent as a rookie 3rd baseman coming up thru the minors with the Toronto Bluejays back in early 1990’s. Changed Teams and positions and became a star. Thou he has been talked about in the whole steroid saga that blighted baseball Mid 90’s to Mid 00’s. May have to check his package during the show to see if I can work it out if he did or didn’t

Whoop Whoop – bring it on C9 – they better not dick us about again!

Heh JStar – looking forward to your commentary again this season.
