The X Factor – Mel B and Nat B Are Having A Scrag Fight

Mel B was tiffing with everyone last night, except for Ronan on The X Factor and the argument continued on radio today.

What started it last night was Mel B having a go at the One Direction tune that Natalie Bassingthwaite picked for Bella Ferraro on party night. Bella in turn said to Mel B she would have probably given her a Spice Girls song.

Mel B then had got defensive with Nat B asking her whether she had said that the Spice Girls were manufactured. Not sure why Mel B was so offended as the Spice Girls were manufactured.

Anyway are reported:

Mel B slammed Bassingthwaite for picking a down-tempo version of One Direction hit What Makes You Beautiful.

“It is party week sister, get it together,” Mel B told Bassingthwaite after Ferraro’s performance.

Bassingthwaite hit back saying that Ferraro was an artist who shouldn’t be turned into a manufactured pop star.

The war of words continued today.

Bassingthwaite described the relationship between her and Mel B as ‘icy’.

“She was in a bad mood from the beginning (of the show),” Bassingthwaite told radio’s Fox FM.

“As soon as we did our walk-on (at the start of the show), she just had this frown.

“I think she was having a bad day. It (the criticism of Ferraro’s song choice) felt really harsh at the time.”

Mel B told Nova radio’s Hughesy and Kate that she had no regrets about her criticism of Bassingthwaite.

“I did not like that version at all. I stand by my word always,” Mel B said.

“Looking back at the show I’m like what were you (Bassingthwaite) thinking?

“Bella is so talented. I really love her voice. She needs to be given a folky Kate Bush or Florence and the Machine kind of vibe.

“She (Bassingthwaite) is setting her back.”

Mel B refused to say whether she and Bassingthwaite continued their argument once the cameras were turned off.

“Me and Nat have it out all the time so I’m not going to agree with anything she says,” Mel B said.

Earlier, Mel B was clearly miffed that Ferraro took a pot shot at The Spice Girls.

Ferraro said that if Mel B was her mentor she probably would have picked a Spice Girls song for her for last week’s judges’ choice live round.

“Bella, I wouldn’t have had you sing a Spice Girls song until you’ve sold 75 million albums, you can’t comment,” Mel B told the 18-year-old.

Even though they may have literally kissed and made up on tonight’s show body language told another story, this won’t be the last of the sniping this season.

Have to side with Mel B here. She’s probably been having a tough week with her two boys being in the whole controversy. But she knows what she’s talking about – I have to say, judges who pick songs should have a diverse range of music knowledge. Same with Delta, I love her, but she picked songs too generic and known in The Voice. Having listened to Bella only once, I agree, she needs the whole Florence/Kate Bush/Deidre & the Dark/Lenka vibe…

Don’t anger Mel B you guys…you don’t wanna lose her to X Factor UK.
