My Kitchen Rules: Colin Fassnidge Takes Over From A Punted Tobie Puttock

In what is great casting news Sydney chef Colin Fassnidge will be joining the cast of My Kitchen Rules.

He will taking over the judging role from Tobie Puttock. This is good new as Tobie as nice as he seemed, was very bland onscreen and really added nothing to the show. Whereas Colin is more a “let me tell you what I really think” kind of guy. Also he has a strong social media presence on Twitter.

What is interesting is that for some reason I thought Colin  was a not a big fan of host Manu Feildel’s. Not sure why I think that but could be from comments made on Twitter when Colin guest starred on THAT other high rating cooking show Masterchef.

Anyway if there is a bit of friction between them this could make very good television indeed which will mean good ratings!

Both Manu and Pete Evans return with the show in 2013.

Colin who runs the Four In Hand and 4/Fourteen in Sydney will have an expanded judge/mentor role on the program.

Fassnidge says he will approach his judging role with “honesty”.

“If I’m judging a dish and it’s no good, I’ll say that. That’s what I’m there for. I’m interested in seeing contestants develop and improve,” he says.

“There’s no point sugar-coating everything. That’s not going to help anyone.”

Network Seven are also claiming My Kitchen Rules “is the top cooking program in the country” Masterchef Australia cast and crew won’t be liking that claim at all.

Pretty good on the eye as well.

I guess his plan should be to be patient and wait until Manu has sunk a few Cointreaux and then king- hit him while he’s not looking..

I think he will be good, didn’t like Toby all that much.

I couldn’t stand Tobie, so I’m glad he’s gone. Hopefully Colin will be much better.

I want to see the back of the blonde judge whose name I can’t remember… and I wouldn’t complain if horse (GG… get it?) went too

Colin will be an interesting judge – say it like it is

Toby was a fair-minded nice guy. Colin is a foul-mouthed aggressive git. Says a lot about how we are that punters prefer someone like Fassnidge.

Colin doesn’t mince his words. Sometimes the truth hurt but you can learn from the mistakes.

Rosemary that new judge doesn’t look like he gives a toss what he looks like because he hasn’t washed or combed his greasy hair.

He looks like sh*t.

Forget what I said @3, I’ve changed my mind now that I’ve seen Colin in action.
He is rude and condescending, and a real food snob who doesn’t want to waste his valuable time in MKR.
Its okay to take the money though I suppose?

He’s a bit try hard on the grunge. He just looks homeless.

Probably spends thousands to achieve it though.
