My Kitchen Rules: Colin Fassnidge Takes Over From A Punted Tobie Puttock
In what is great casting news Sydney chef Colin Fassnidge will be joining the cast of My Kitchen Rules.
He will taking over the judging role from Tobie Puttock. This is good new as Tobie as nice as he seemed, was very bland onscreen and really added nothing to the show. Whereas Colin is more a “let me tell you what I really think” kind of guy. Also he has a strong social media presence on Twitter.
What is interesting is that for some reason I thought Colin was a not a big fan of host Manu Feildel’s. Not sure why I think that but could be from comments made on Twitter when Colin guest starred on THAT other high rating cooking show Masterchef.
Anyway if there is a bit of friction between them this could make very good television indeed which will mean good ratings!
Both Manu and Pete Evans return with the show in 2013.
Colin who runs the Four In Hand and 4/Fourteen in Sydney will have an expanded judge/mentor role on the program.
Fassnidge says he will approach his judging role with “honesty”.
“If I’m judging a dish and it’s no good, I’ll say that. That’s what I’m there for. I’m interested in seeing contestants develop and improve,” he says.
“There’s no point sugar-coating everything. That’s not going to help anyone.”
Network Seven are also claiming My Kitchen Rules “is the top cooking program in the country” Masterchef Australia cast and crew won’t be liking that claim at all.
