Big Brother – Big Names Are Nominated This Week

Big night of nominations with Benjamin, Stacey and Estelle up for eviction this Sunday night. It will be interesting to see where the cards fall. It will really depend on the edit and Benjamin may want to pull himself together.

He appears to now be building bridges or realising that people know about his bitching. He was worried that Sam and Layla had heard about him being mean about them getting a date.  Ben said to her sometimes you talk about people to work things out in you head and it not meant to be in a negative way. He was also wondering whether he had wasted his time being friends with her.

Ben had a similar conversation with Estelle after she told him  he kept on pushing her away. Ben said he says people about carelessly and don’t always mean it. Do you think he means it?

Also is Sam being above board with Layla? He told her he did have strong emotions for her, but is this because he knows she is popular and being seen to treat her nicely will help get him fans? Also he might see her as an easy target if she wins, he does want to open his own coffee shop.

Tonight the loved ones entered the house and were given one nomination point whilst the housemates had four. The downer or “drainer” as Stacey might say is that the housemates were not allowed to acknowledge them as their loved one entered and exited the nomination room.

Props to Ben’s mum for calling out “So proud”. It was probably what he needed as he had been told off minutes earlier by Big Brother for yelling out on eviction night to try and get a message out of the house. He was told he would be kicked off the show if it happened again. You suspect Big Brother waited for the moment to make him more emotional as they could have hauled him into the diary room to castigate him about it at any time.

The nominations went like this:

  • Zoe gave four points to Stacey because she is an attention seeker. I like Zoe she does seem the least of the game players in there . Zoe’s mum nominated Sam for one point because if they are both nominated he is more likely to be eliminated than Zoe.
  • Michael nominated Estelle for four points because she is making strategical alliances against Ben. Max gave his one point to Layla as she has disconnected from some people in the house and had been influenced by Sam.
  • Stacey nominated Estelle for four points as she has the least in common with her out of all the housemates and she talks to her in a condescending tone. Grant nominated Sam for one point as thought he was more likely to be eliminated.
  • Estelle nominated Benjamin for four points because he needs to be more careful with what he says and said he can be nasty, and Lisa her friend gave Michael one point because he has an influence over people in the house.
  • Benjamin gave four points to Sam for the usual reasons because he is a threat because he is an all round great guy, and Jane his mum gave Layla one point as she thinks Sam is influencing her and there is now tension between Ben and Layla.
  • Sam nominated Ben for four points for the usual reasons that he is bitching. Sam’s mum gave one point to Stacey because as she has been flying one on the radar

Then Layla got the huge super power bestowed on her by Angie. Not only did Layla get to spend time with her dad in the diary room, she also got to see the nomination board and give her five points anyway she wanted.

Layla’s father was funny when he jokingly said give five to Sam. She ended up giving points to Stacey to put her up for nomination and making lover boy Sam safe. She also flung a couple of points Ben’s way under the guidance of her father, he also told her that Ben said he was going to destroy her. Was that in the rule book?

In the end it was Benjamin on ten points, with Estelle and Stacey on eight.

Benjamin looked upset he was nominated, with Estelle and Stacey seem to take it in their stride.

Tomorrow night former Big Brother housemates will re-enter the house, and you have to suspect all the housemates will be up for elimination next week.

I love reading all of these comments. There is such a variety of opinions.
Don’t forget the timeline of events tonight; Estelle was lamenting that she missed Angie, and that she had nobody to snuggle with tonight. One of the other girls piped in with “why don’t you snuggle Michael” or something to that effect, to which Estelle asked him…”yeah, Michael, do you want to spoon tonight”?
Now she may well have been thinking ‘oh please, please say no Michael’, but she was committed either way.
You have got to admire the fact that Estelle didn’t miss a beat when it was suggested that she spoon Michael.
Maybe she was just lonely; maybe she saw an opportunity to reach out to Michael; maybe she was just locked into that situation because to reject the idea of snuggling Michael would have looked bad?
Who knows?
One thing I do know is that it takes serious strength of character to cuddle up to the person who has incessantly nominated you and talked behind your back, and said “everbody in the house hates Estelle”!
The worst you could say about the incident is that maybe she gets lonely if she doesnt have somebody to snuggle up to each night….and well…oh boy, I bet there are plenty of boys who will take one for the team and put their hand up to snuggle with her any night of the week!
The worst you could say is that she is playing the game. If that is the case, then you really have to admire how she does it. She plays fair and she plays nice. She shows that you can play the game without being nasty, malicious, bully, or bitchy.

Either way, the dynamics of the house are experiencing a siesmic change and aint it great to watch!!!

BDD, agreed about Michael. I think he clearly doesn’t mind snuggling up to Estelle (for obvious reasons) and he’s probably hedging his bets as someone else said. I think he knows Ben is cracking and it certainly wouldnt hurt for him to have an ‘in’ with the other group.

Bailey – what you said about Ben is perfect, that’s exactly how I feel about him. His ivory tower is crumbling and he’s crumbling with it, and yes I too would almost feel bad for him if he wasn’t so manipulative. I thought he was stronger than this, but I suppose they’ve been in there for close to three months now so they’d be fairly unstable anyway, plus he’s ruled the roost for so long, the harder you fall and all that.

Also BakerBoy, I disagree about Estelle. I didn’t see the segway you were referring to when I watched the episode, it didn’t seem like she was prompted into asking Michael if he wanted to spoon? Regardless, she made the decision and given her history with Michael I don’t believe for a second it was prompted purely by innocent loneliness, there’s always Stacey or Zoe whom she could cuddle with if it was purely about that, and she doesn’t have the awkward history with either of them…

Like some of the HMs were discussing tonight, I too have noticed Estelle’s need for male attention and I suspect that may have been what she was after more specifically. Alternatively I wouldn’t put it past her to be strategic, she may be playing a ‘cleaner’ game than the others but I’m still very much convinced she is a very smart and strategic player. She’s improved on me a bit though more recently, and I do respect her game, she’s much smarter than a lot of people give her credit for (Fellow HMs, fans and haters alike).

estelle just wants to be friends, like she always has from the beginning. its michael thats being sleazy about the whole thing…trying to get in good with the loser group. he probably thinks he has a better chance against sayla if he is turning on the romance. but he couldnt stomach zoe…so it was either spoon with benjamin or estelle

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and as I said earlier I don’t doubt Michael is attracted to Estelle, but he wasn’t the one that suggested said sleeping arrangement… Just saying, so I stand by my analysis of the situation as far as Estelle is concerned. I’ll agree to disagree, but regardless, I really don’t think it’ll have a positive impact for her I’m afraid.

doesnt say much for michaels standards though…..
he was only just saying how much he loathed her…and *wham*!!!
he’s in bed with her.
kinda funny……def strategic on his part.

Great show! Loved all the unwelcome visitors – and wasn’t Michael’s lookalike great!! Down to that crack.

He’s such a two faced bastard though – his down fall will come after Ben – who, when the lights were out, looked quite traumatised and about to burst into tears. Karma Ben, Karma ..

Re Michael’s jocks (100)…I’m a realist AP..a realist :)… ha! ha!

Miss Mars, I think Michael is attracted to Estelle; he’s jumped on opportunities to talk about her looks often enough and admitted to Angie he’s attracted to her. But I do agree that it’s more likely he’s keen to build a relationship with the other group as I’m sure siding with Ben is looking like a liability right now. He even complained to BB about his mood getting to him and I believe it would – Ben seems really demanding when he needs help. As Stacey said – a drainer! Poor Ben.

I would like to see either Ben or Stacey go this week. That corporate bonding day when they had to create something out of wire coathangers, everyone else created tangible things like fruitbowls, suit & tie holders etc…. Ben & Stacey created a meeper detector so they didnt have to hear boring conversations…. I think that showed not only arrogance on their part but a certain mindset that just isn`t nice.

MIchelle, yes you’re right, I forgot about that! Just shows you how nasty they were so they have definitely changed their strategy a bit.
I’m so hoping Stacey goes, I can put up with Ben for the entertainment but Stacey is so annoying.

man it was sooo funny when the strong man kicked benjamin over!!!
I AM THE REAL DEAL!!!!!!! LOL!!! 😀

I only saw the last 15 minutes and am in a state of post crackmatic shock! What diabolical shenanigans was taking place in the crusty musty but lusty bed last night?
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW
I now believe in Stockholm Syndrome.

Oh yeah, that was hilarious when he pushed Ben over. That first guy in the shower was pretty revolting.

15 Stacey { 10.24.12 at 6:00 pm }

Just watching the recap. Its hilarious!
Estelle clearly asked Micheal to spoon, I just watched it. He didn’t really seem that excited about it and initially said no. They are gross together! I don’t think it’s Estelle trying to isolate Ben, I think he’s doing a good job of isolating himself. I think Estelle does like the male attention, it was pretty evident when she was baiting Sam for a compliment about her biceps. Sam is with Layla, Bens gay, so Micheal is the only option left.
Ben is just being a massive sook and unbelievably rude to Sam and Layla. Good on Stacey for telling it how it is and saying he’s a drainer, in the nicest way possible. Voting for her this week!
