Big Brother – Ben’s Flipping Out, Michael Is Snuggling Estelle And Also The Intruders!
There were three major plotlines in last night’s episode, the intruders, Benjamin’s meltdown, and Michael snuggling up with Estelle.
Firstly the intruders were amusing with the housemates having to ignore them, particularly the Michael lookalike, however I did notice that the three guy intruders were not lookers and the girl was. Unfair Big Brother.
Now to more important matters.
Was Michael snuggling up with Estelle libido, loneliness or strategy? Or all of the above?
All episode he was whining that it was the Layla and Sam show and they were only bit players did he think a romance would make him get more screen time. Michael appears at the moment to be trying to second guess everything as he clearly wants to win.
He said there was a shift in power in the house from their group to the Sam, Layla, and Estelle group. Was it a power within or was it because he thinks that the viewers prefer this group? Michael thinks Estelle is popular because she does not bitch and this might look good on the outside.
He also stated “When I am comfortable with other people winning it does not hurt anymore”. Everyone is there to win, except perhaps for Zoe who does appear to not be playing the game as much. Also I think she is one of the minority of the house who is not in there with a huge agenda.
Or is Michael just the nerdy guy from school who finally is having a snuggle with the hot chick aka Estelle someone who would not normally look twice at him. For someone he allegedly hates, in the closing scenes he sure looked like he was trying to make it a more than platonic cuddle with the head caressing.
Also what was Estelle’s agenda? To prove the guy she heard say everyone in the house did not like her was now wanting to mack on with her? Were the other girls right does she likes male attention? If the snuggling continues she might get a backlash against her, because they might think she is cutting Zoe’s grass.
Though Zoe said herself her “love” for Michael is more about fluffing feathers and to keep herself amused in the house.
Someone who is very much at risk of getting a backlash against him was Benjamin. He is crumbling. Is Michael sensing his weakness and trying to make him more vulnerable with his constantly playing mind games? Stacey certainly thinks so and gave him a talking to. They all know that last week was the last time they were nominating so they will either all be up or external factors will be selecting who is up for nominations next week so maybe their alliances are now not as important.
Benjamin needs to stop the pity party and pull himself together. He thinks it is all very much unfair not seeing that what is occurring to him is what happened to others previously. He also does not think his remarks about other people were that big a deal, but then was upset that other people may be talking about him!
Maybe he needs to give himself a talking to like he has done to Angie and the other housemates so many times when they were nominated. Sure it can’t be nice to be the housemate with highest amount of points but really it is a game and these things happen and there was not a lot of compassion shown to others that were in the same situation.
Some of his most entertaining lines last night were “I thought I had tried to be a good person to all of you”, and “I spent a lot time being strong for other people and have a lot of energy to the end to be strong for myself”.
He spent a lot of time ensuring he was not nominated by telling others what others were saying about them. This is fine as it is strategy and Benjamin and Michael are playing strong strategic games however a few people have cottoned on.
However it is not real bright or mature now Ben is refusing to speak to Sam and Layla in the house because he thinks they avoided nomination.
What the Michael/Ben/Stacey clique don’t realise is the Zoe allegedly one of theirs gave her four points to Stacey so the groups are not as solid as they think.
Finally I did notice Sam mentioned the prize money to Layla, I still think if she wins he is going to want to try and tell her what to do with it.
By the way Stacey is certainly safe this week if the Estelle and Ben show continues.
What did you think of Ben’s behaviour – justified or petulance? Michael snuggling Estelle is it strategy or loneliness?
