The X Factor – The Judges Choice But Not For Their Own

It was an interesting night as other judges got to choose the songs for the other judges contestants.

The highlight was Bella sing Dreams by The Cranberries and it suited her perfectly, and also she got to sing last so she should be safe into next week.

Her teammate Shiane kicked off the show with Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years, the judges gushed over it, and she as always hit all the notes but again there is just something quite childlike about her performance.

The judges were feeling the love for all the acts tonight including one of the favourites The Collective. Their Justin Beiber song did nothing for me, however obviously I am the wrong demographic to be enamoured of their talents.

Samantha Jade again was the perfect pop princess the problem is we have seen it all before. She sang Stronger by Kelly Clarkson, again her fan base is shaky so it will be interesting if she can survive tomorrow night.

Jason had a song chosen by Ronan Keating, so Ronan picked one of his own to sing. It had a country vibe and his performance was fine just a tad dull.

Which performances did you like or loathe tonight?

If Tomorrow Never Comes isn’t a Ronan original. Garth Brooks did it first, and like 99% of everything else in Ronan’s back catalogue, Ronan covered it.

I think that Bella was the best tonight. She sounded great and was most ‘artistic’. She is the only one that I would potentially consider buying a cd from. I used to like Shiane but I am bored with her now. She does not seem to connect with any of her songs and her eyes are very dull, its strange. I just do not ‘feel’ any of her songs now. All others were totally unremarkable! Just a great covers copiers! I wish that Bella could win but The Collective seems to have huge following and probably will win, mostly due to teenies voting!

@Mia – Does it really matter, yes Ronan covered a song by another artist. In doing the he made it his own, he had a huge hit with it and it was number 1 in many countries. His version of the song sold in total far more and made more money for Garth than the original version. So in away it has become “his” song…his version is more famous outside Garth’s native USA than Garth’s version. There are plenty of songs that have become more famous by the cover than the original song by the original artist – thats just the way things are. At the end of the day Ronan didn’t say he wrote the song, so he wasn’t taking credit for it.

Maybe Ronan would consider covering some of Altijan Juric’s “material”, since he rated him so highly.

Look like Shiane, Bella and Samantha in particular have been suffering some horrible bullying:

I want Jason to win, just to see how happy Simon Cowell will be :)

Shiane needs to go. She’s a nice kid but too young to connect to the songs and no one will buy her album. Bella and Samantha have the best voices by a country mile but Sam doesn’t seem to have a following. Have to say Mel B really showed Nat up with that song choice for Bella.
