Normally Politicians Wait Until After They Have Left Parliament To Go On A Reality TV Show

We have seen Pauline Hanson twirl on Dancing With The Stars, Anna Bligh on Celebrity Masterchef, and Prime Minister Julia Gillard make a guest appearance on Junior Masterchef, but a Tory UK politician has decided to pack her bags, dump her constituent responsibilities and go on popular UK reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Nadine Dorries, the Member for Mid Bedfordshire says the rationale for her going on the show to reach the 16 million viewers and that is where politicians should be going to get their opinions known. Has she actually watched the program it is not a reality TV version of Q&A, and has challenges that are related to eating and doing weird and slightly humiliating acts to take them out of their comfort zones.

Also has she seen the editing of these shows it is not going to be a great platform for her to spout policy issues.

Critics of hers suggest that it is the $60,000 payment which lured her onto the show.

Thankfully the Conservative Party have seen sense and have suspended her. I will be interesting to know if her colleagues will be voting her off or wanting to keep her in the “jungle”. The show is filmed in Far North NSW and usually screens on UKTV here.

Great logic from Ms Dorries.
Wonder what her constituents will make of her qualities as their local representative as she takes on the yabby fellatio challenge:

Surely recent events at ICAC show that there are easier ways for MPs to earn (or save) a buck on the side. Surely?

Anyone brave enough to watch the Ch 10 breakfast show this morning would have been richly rewarded with a hilarious but worthy portrait of Peter Slipper done by a talented artist called “Prickasso”, who does portraits using his penis. Highly recommended.

Sadly, Australian taxpayers will have to cough up $30,000 for a properly commissioned portrait of Mr Slipper to be “hung” in Parliament House, Canberra.

bdd, is Prickasso a cubicalist?

Latest is that she has been kicked out of her political party. I expect the money will be too much of a lure to stop her going into the jungle.
I would like to watch her in the the dreadful bug eating trials but am concerned that the money she generates through votes will go towards an anti-abortion charity, something I do not want give to.

[…] of Big Brother we saw no political discourse from the house. Maybe the Tory MP that is on the UK I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is correct to go on the show as that is where the eyeballs are. However in this case I am not sure the format of that show will […]
