Mel B Appears To Be Falling Out Of Favour With The Mainstream Press

It must have been nice for Mel B to go from being in the middle of the celebrity food chain overseas to zooming right to the top of the celebrity charts here in Sydney.

However it appears the mainstream media are now not quite as enamoured with her as they were when she first hit our shores and it does appear there are a few own goals by the former Spice Girl which has seen her halo slip.

Ros Reines in the Sunday Telegraph devoted her column to her. She listed her sins which included obtaining an interim AVO against a local photographer, when she works with another pap agency, changing managers, and fighting with her husband on the red carpet.

Andrew Hornery from the SMH gave her a tickle up, saying it was wrong for her to be paid to attend a World Aid’s  Day charity event this last weekend. Mel B’s manager, Roxy Jacenko, has since come out saying she wasn’t paid for it but was given a case of vodka each month for twelve months.

Either way it still looks like Mel B has a bit of making up to do with the celebrity tracker journalists in this town.

I always thought she ran out of work in the US and UK so she came here. Like having to wear your cousin’s cast-offs. I thought the Spice Girls were famous for being average singers with catchy tunes. So I’m not surprised if the novelty has worn off, because I wasn’t impressed by her as a choice in the first place.

But, on the other hand, if she can make a career and a name for herself out of fairly average looks and talent, maybe she is a good candidate for mentor. Just saying.

Just like that other great English export – soccer players, she moves around the world to the outer leagues as she gets older.

Like everyone else, Mel needs to make a living – the same as that idiot freelance photographer who was hounding her. The difference is, he’s downright dangerous and someone will get hurt one of these days.

He made it so unpleasant for Nicole Kidman to spend time in Aus, that she sold her Sydney house. He’s one of those incessant pests that relentlessly pursue people in the hope of getting a photo of them in a distraught state. He ‘car chased’ Nicole and her driver across Sydney and the incident with Mel, involved circling her and her husband several times with a boat, taking happy snaps, while they were kayaking on the Harbour.

” She listed her sins” – well not, really.
I would have started with crimes against music.

Ah the Aussie talent show judging panel where those whose overseas musical carreers are limp and failing come to die. Like a musical retirement village.
