Now Casting: Please Marry My Boy Looking For Contestants

In I didn’t see this one coming but it looks like Channel Seven are considering going ahead with a second season of Please Marry My Boy.

They have announced they are looking for mother’s and sons, and single ladies looking for love.

The show rated OK for the network but maybe because it was cheap to make – no big prize money, people staying in the family home, and sponsored dates so maybe that  is why they decided to have a crack at another series.

They applications are open for nearly three months until 1 March 2013, there has been no official announcement, maybe they are waiting to see what type of applicants they get before they give it the official go ahead.

If you are interested go to Yahoo7 Casting.

Watched it last season. Totally confident that it couldn’t get any worse.

Milena and Vlad were memorable characters for me. Quality Adelaide reality tv fodder.

I saw the ad tonight and said the exact same thing as to why they would do another season – because it’s cheap!! One thing The Amazing Race isn’t…!

I wouldn’t be placing any bets, BDD.. channel 7 could still outdo themselves in the cringe worthy stakes! Ughh I have flashbacks to Vlad slobbering all over one of those poor girl’s faces. The guy with the obsession for fake looking girls was a real creep!

Yeah it was so bad it was good. What I liked was the lack of scripting, so the real personalities came out along with their predjudices and preferences.

I agree bdd, the Milats were memorable and so was Karen whose approach to the potential wives was ‘you marry my boy you marry me’. Also shallow Tony and his long suffering mum Elva and Magdelena who actually thought she’d ‘won’ him.

Never watched the first series, thought it was a dumb concept and didn’t see the point of it. The ads were enough to put me off it. Definitely won’t bother with the 2nd series. I’m sure there will be plenty of other shows on TV that I would prefer to spend my time watching.

This has to be one of the most humiliating shows on airwaves right now.

Yes, it’s right up there in the humiliation stakes and the competition there is hot with The Biggest Loser, Embarrassing Bodies, Don’t Blame The Dog etc.

So many reality TV shows seem to include ritual humiliation of the contestants in various forms, even the so called “marquis” shows like Ma$terchef.

Georgie, I haven’t forgotten Karen . Like a sun beaten , swarthy T.Rex in footy shorts with peroxide mullet , iron fist and set in stone demands that the son/daughter in law would have to live in the same suburb. No way, Mumzilla.

Der…that would be “marquee” shows, sorry in previous comment.

Only Elva and the other lovely mum from the Hunter/newcastle region were the ones you would want for a mother in-law. It will be interesting to see who these boys hook up with long term.

Yes, Elva was great . She’ll just have to somehow dig deep and deal with the conga line of pole dancers that Tony will be bringing home to meet her in the future.

Whatever happened to Vlad the Impaler (of women’s dreams)?

Lol bdd, T.Rex – and I’d actually forgotten about Karen’s mullet.

The mum from the Hunter or Central Coast was Anne and her son Brendan. He always looked like a kid in a candy store – he couldn’t believe his good fortune that Anna was throwing herself at (or under) him at every opportunity.

And I’m back!

I didn’t mind this show. I pretty much watched it when nothing else was on but found myself tuning into the finale episode to find out which mum picked who. Might watch it again will look out for promos next year.
They had some great characters on last season, Tony, Tammy, Elva, Costansa and of course, peroxide mullet mum.
CB- I though Karen the peroxide mulleted head was Brendans mum? I know there was Vlad, Brendan and Tony, was there another boy I’m forgetting?

Welcome back, Stacey! Matt was Karen’s son.. He was somewhat good looking (prob the best pick in the bunch IMO) but he was also quite bland on TV as he didn’t have a strong defining trait like the others.

The characters were definitely more real compared to other shows. I am an absolute sucker for reality dating shows so will no doubt tune in!

Thanks Eliza! I can’t remember what some of them look like so I might google. I agree, this was a better-than-the-average dating show that was quite funny at times, and I of course loved the Australian ‘Dinner Date’.
