Celebrity Splash Made A Splash In The UK Or Was It A Bomb?

Channel Seven executives will be keeping a close eye on the UK version of Celebrity Splash. This is the show where celebrities compete in a diving competition. The show was excoriated on the social media, however the ratings were very good with over six million people watching the show.

What will be interesting to see is whether the viewers continue to watch it. The show is hosted by UK diving sensation and hottie Tom Daley, however there is criticism that one of the judges comedian Jo Brand does not know diving. (Source: Mirror).

The Daily Telegraph is also reporting the Australian version of the show is due to start filming in a few weeks with rumours that Giann Rooney, Rachael Finch, Paul Gallen and Todd McKenney may be involved. Australian diver Matthew Mitcham is going to be a mentor on the show.

There were also rumours that Jules Lund and Fifi Box were going to host. I think I am the only person in Australia who is enthusiastic about this show it will be trashy but could be amusing if cast right, however they need a diverse cast not just bright young things.

Celebrity Splash will be on SEVEN later this year.

Actually, the UK presenter is Vernon Kay. Tom Daley is simply an instructor.

I couldn’t stand Jules and Fifi being the hosts.
I said before somewhere that ” Sura Taft” would be a good host. I’ve caught him a few times hosting a kid’s show called “Pyramid” on channel 9 at 4pm and he is young, bright and enthusiastic and would do a good job I believe if only channel 7 would give him a chance, at least its someone different.

I’d probably watch this if they always have some nice celeb eye candy getting wet. Diving can be pretty serious though, what height are they jumping from?
