The Amazing Race Australia Wins Another Award

Last night in Sydney, The Amazing Race Australia won an AACTA (formerly known as the AFI awards) for best reality TV series. It is another trophy to add to the shelf. The show late last year also won an International Emmy.

However it is still unclear whether there will be a series three on SEVEN this year.

Channel SEVEN programmer Angus Ross when talking to TV Tonight about his Network’s programs was still being quite ambiguous about whether they have commissioned The Amazing Race Australia for 2013.

He told TV Tonight:

“There are a number of announcements to come for the back half of the year including Beauty & The Geek, Amazing Race and so forth. A lot of things are in the mix, and things will become clearer in the coming months.”

In other reality TV related news he also told TV Tonight:
  • That celebrities are keen to be cast on the new show Celebrity Splash;
  • The Mole will now just be The Mole, they have dropped culture clash; and
  • Please Marry My Boy is coming back.

With two awards, it would now be embarrassing for Ch7 not to give TAR another run. I’m sure another network will snap it up if they don’t.

That’s so true Georgie! Congrats on the award, now hurry up and bring it back 7! My friends and I much prefer seeing our own Aussie version :)

Come back AUS Race. It’s better than the US or Asian versions. Both of which I enjoy too.
