American Idol Fake? Are The Judges Told Who To Put Through?

Are the American Idol judges stooges who rely on the producers of the show to tell them who to put or not put through to Hollywood Week?

Sean Klitzner thinks so. In his YouTube clip below he outlines his reasons for think this.

The judges would take guidance from the producers about who to put through depending on back stories, drama or talent, but Sean implies the judges are just following orders ALL THE TIME.

Sean argues that ever since Simon Cowell left the show there has been no one on the panel that knows how to make an entertaining television show. His theory is Nigel Lythgoe the producer and So You Think You Can Dance judge is making most of the decision.

What do you think?

Totally agree, Totally Fake – no wonder Jlo and Ellen were gone as fast as their contracts were finished as they are too professional to be assoc with this show which makes me wince that Keith is on it, ffs. Why Keith? This show has had its day. The judges are mere puppets in the heavily edited world of tv shows as basically the Producer is the one with all the say, IMO.

Agreed – it’s as fake as Dolly Parton’s er, wigs.

Nikki acts like she’s on speed and Mariah like she’s on prozac. How those two are reporterdly in a feud, is beyond me and the scientific laws regarding the interaction of chemical compounds.

It’s also become redundant: if every contestant is special then by that definition, no contestant is special.
To watch those judges, you have to be a contestant that both sucks and blows before you can fail the audition.

I do watch a few the Encores for this but treat it strictly as comedy, like all of these alleged “talent” shows. Musically, it’s torture.

The judges have to eat and are obviously compromised by the wads of cash they receive – because most of the deluded fools that appear on these shows should have been drowned at birth and suffered for their art that way.

This is probably true for every reality show and I’m sure it happens here too.
Take Big Brother for instance, totally a waste of time to vote in these type of shows.
As for Keith, he made a big mistake and should run as fast as he can.

Watched an episode … Found Nikki beyond irritating!!

She comes across like a barbi … Plastic & fake.

Idol was good when Paula & Simon were there … Wish we saw seasons with JLo & Steve Tyler..

The show is almost as fake as Mariah Carey’s tits.

Well I know for a fact that is exactly how Australian Idol was.
There were 2/3 rounds before making it to the judges. The main producers makes notes on the sheet and there is a comments section for the judges on what to ask, and if the producers want them through or not.

Have seen a bit here and there. Too boring to watch.
Overall lacklustre. Seen it all before.

Last night’s episode (Oklahoma auditions) was notable for two reasons:

* Possibly the most over the top rendition of The $tar Spangled Banner” I’ve ever seen. Of course, the judges put the contestant through. Hard not to smell a rat.

* The dude looks like a lady cameo appearance of ex judge Steven Tyler. It’s right at the end.

US Idol was beaten by Law and Order, Doc Phil and Judge Judy recordings for me.
Hands down.
