Making Couples Happy – Premiers On ABC Tonight On Valentines Day

It is mildly ironic the ABC show Making Couples Happy is premiering on Valentines Day. In fact the couples that are watching on this date may be the ones who will be quite confronted by it.

This show is a follow on from Making Australia Happy and they are trying their “science” on couples whose relationships are struggling.

The four couples are:

  • Carla and Domenic who have been together five year and are yet to have children;
  • Paula and Stephen who have been together 8 years and have two children under three years of age;
  • Alison and Paul have been together 30 years; and
  • Laney and Darren who have been married 8 years with two young kids. They also run a business together.
 There is no same sex couple in the show, however they were scouting for couples around where I live and in the flyer they were asking for all types of couples so clearly they did not get any or any that were appropriate to go on the show

These four couples will be guided by clinical psychologist John Aiken, counselor/sex therapist, Desiree Spierings and also mind/body expert, Anna-Louise Bouvier.

Some of these relationships look unsalvagable so it will be interesting to see if the experts can turn around the Titanic in the four part series. If you think it is going to be voyeristic think again. It shows how brave and committed these couples are to expose the intimate secrets of their lives but in doing so may just get the viewer at home examining the nuts and bolts of their own relationship.

Making Couples Happy on ABC Thursday nights at 8.30pm

I am for the time being but its likely to go off again any moment. Off and on all day, pain in the neck.
Did you know we are in an area of “mass destruction” according to Dodo and maintenance has to be carried out?
After this Couples show tonight is “The Midwives” about the work of real life midwives in a hospital in England, looks good too.

I think it’s time you and John evacuated to the Sunshine Coast A.P., seeing as you live in a place of “mass destruction” !
