The Living Room – Kicks off Tonight – Fun And Light Hearted Lifestyle
Lifestyle programs are not really my thing unless they are showing me how to make a perfect martini, however on a set visit to The Living Room I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.
The set has been re-done and it does have a feel of a living room and this is the vibe of the show they are aiming for. People sitting on a couch, having lighthearted banter and having fun which is what you do with good friends and family particularly on a weekend.
The are imparting information but in a jovial manner. This start with anchor Amanda Keller who is one of the most talented woman on radio and TV she keeps the light hearted atmosphere going with quips, warmth and one liners.
Then there are reality stalwarts Barry Dubois, who is a favourite on this blog, and Chris Brown who is Bondi Vet. I am not really that familiar with the vet’s work, but was impressed with how amusing he was. Also helped by the fact one of the clips he was in he had his shirt off. For the record I only looked for professional purposes. Fans of Barry will be sad to know his shirt stayed on.
Chris Brown, who does travel and animals, get buddied a lot with Chef, Miguel Maestro, they have a jokey schtick going on which will be seen in a road trip in Tasmania. And that is the aim of the show imparting information whilst having fun.
The show does appear to be aimed at the female viewer as there are now five male presenters with Jason Cunningham talking money, and Andrew Rochford doing health segments.
To balance out all that testosterone they have added Lilly Van Epen a gardening expert to the roster.
The Living Room is not as serious as some of the other lifestyle shows and that is why if fits nicely on the Friday night viewing roster. On after American Idol on TEN.
The Living Room on TEN at 8.30pm on Friday nights.
