Marco Pierre White’s Life Might Be Turned Into A Movie – Who Would Play Him?

Marco Pierre White’s life might be making it to the big screen with news in that Hollywood are interested in the rights to his book White Heat. reports:

[Marco Pierre]White, co-host of Channel 10’s MasterChef: The Professionals with Matt Preston, is talking with director Jordan Scott – daughter of Hollywood heavyweight Ridley – about a movie script based on his book White Heat.

It’s understood Scott’s UK film house, Scott Free Productions, wants to document White’s phenomenal rise from teenage apprentice in Leeds, northern England, to become the king of international cooking.

If Marco’s life is turned into a movie who should play him? A brooding Liev Schriber, Kevin Spacey from ten years ago or Robert Downey Jr?  Who would you like to see play Marco on screen?

Also on Masterchef Professionals this week:

Sunday – The Classic Re-invention test

With nine different cuisines featured in tonight’s Knife Block, it’s a truly internationally flavoured program. The contestants must choose two knives. Each knife reveals a cuisine  they have to fuse with the other to create a spectacular dish. The worst performer will leave the competition.

Monday  – Offsite Challenge

Tonight’s offsite challenge sees the eight contestants split into two teams as they forage through suburban homes, knocking on doors and working with whatever ingredients they find. The contestants take their ingredients to the local park, where they prepare canapés for a garden party for everyone in the neighbourhood. Tensions are running high, as the winning team has an opportunity to win guaranteed immunity.

Tuesday – Restaurant Service Challenge with Guest Chef Stefano De Pieri

The winning team from last night’s offsite challenge is competing for guaranteed immunity. Split into two teams of two, each team must design and cook a three-course Italian meal for some very tough customers: 120 Italians. Joining Matt Preston in the restaurant is Italian culinary legend Stefano de Pieri as guest judge.

Masterchef: The Professionals on TEN Sunday to Tuesday at 7.30pm

Wow Liev Schrieber is a great choice actually, to play the older Marco. Kevin Spacey is one of my favourite actors, but no. A young burly british guy… Are there even any around?

2 Izobel2 { 02.22.13 at 10:30 pm }

My husband says Gerard Depardieu, Gene Wilder or Samuel L Jackson. I think I should tell him to have another drink..

I paused the knife pull from the pirate the other night and saw what they were cooking on Sun.

I will try to to think of someone. Maybe Jason Statham if he grew his hair a lot..

3 Daisy { 02.22.13 at 10:32 pm }

I’ll think on it but so far I’m loving Kevin Spacey with an afro wig.
One of my favourites too Stacey.

4 brain dead dave { 02.22.13 at 10:35 pm }

Anthony Hopkins or Jack Palance if we can have dead actors. Geoffrey Rush .

5 Daisy { 02.22.13 at 10:36 pm }

Try any of the following in an afro wig:
Hugh Jackman
Danny de Vito
Russel Crowe
Will Smith
Mike Meyes

But who would play Jowlsy?

6 brain dead dave { 02.22.13 at 10:39 pm }

Fat Cat.

7 Izobel2 { 02.22.13 at 10:42 pm }

The husband just said Anthony – he of the massive dummy spit from the beginning of this series..
I was thinking Dustin Hoffman when he was repeating himself in Rain Man… I’m a really good driver.. Really good driver… Where’s my quail where’s my quail..

8 Daisy { 02.22.13 at 10:47 pm }

Fat Cat. Good casting.

What about Mike Myers in a duel role. He could resurrect Fat Bastard.

9 Daisy { 02.22.13 at 10:52 pm }

Izobel. Well done. Well done. Well done.

10 A.P { 02.22.13 at 10:59 pm }

Fat Cat can’t talk.
I reckon Geoffery Rush would be good too, he was in “Quills” where he played the mad Marquis De Sade.

11 Georgie { 02.22.13 at 11:03 pm }

Robert Pattinson or Kenneth Branagh.

12 brain dead dave { 02.22.13 at 11:09 pm }

John Cleese could do it. Bryan Ferry .Gotta be tall. No Tom Cruise gig.

13 Daisy { 02.22.13 at 11:13 pm }

John Cleese would be brilliant. He could slap Luke around. He’s almost Spanish.

14 A.P { 02.22.13 at 11:26 pm }

What about Joe Cocker, he’s a Yorkshire man too.

15 nanaliz { 02.22.13 at 11:55 pm }

Definitely go with Geoffrey Rush, AP@10 and for Jowlsy cameo we could put Con the Fruiterer’s ultra ego (can’t think of his name). Cameron, with added acne scars and bung knee, would be a cert for Gordon Ramsay.

16 Daisy { 02.23.13 at 12:21 am }

Yes Joe Cocker because he’s already got the hair, or most of it.
Marco Polo White the Musical.

17 Dunbi { 02.23.13 at 1:46 am }

Colin Firth
Martin Clunes

18 Daisy { 02.23.13 at 2:06 am }

Martin Clunes would make an excellent Jowlsy. Quite similar looking.
Well spotted Dunbi.

19 Carmen { 02.23.13 at 9:18 am }

There was a series called ‘Whites’ with Alan Davies and though that character was supposedly not modelled on MPW, Alan Davies could be MPW the movie in appearance at least.

20 Georgie { 02.23.13 at 9:28 am }

Robbie Coltrane to play Jowlsy. He’s already got one good outfit for the part.

21 A.P { 02.23.13 at 10:04 am }

Yeah, there is a likeness there Georgie!

22 Julie { 02.23.13 at 10:48 am }

Vince Colosimo should play Marco Pierre White, coz he looks like him.

23 Georgie { 02.23.13 at 12:10 pm }
24 Dunbi { 02.23.13 at 1:31 pm }

Ken Stott for MPW (Inspector Rebus)
I like the idea of Robbie Coltrane for Matt P. Georgie.

25 Dr T { 02.23.13 at 1:58 pm }

I am surprised none of the fans of last years’ season of MC have suggested Steve Buscemi as yet :-)

26 no clue { 02.23.13 at 8:06 pm }

Only Alan Rickman

27 Stacey { 02.23.13 at 8:41 pm }

Yes Georgie Kenneth Branaugh would be perfect! Geoffrey Rush is maybe a bit old? And Vince Colosimo would be great too. But who would play a young Marco? Ive seen pictures of him when he was younger and his hair is like long and wavy. Lol @ Steve Buscemi, anyone see his cameo on (s4?) 30 Rock? Hilarious with a long blonde wig haha

28 Georgie { 02.23.13 at 9:36 pm }

Stacey, I mentioned Robert Pattinson as a possibility. He’s only 26 and would make a good ‘young’ Marco.

29 Georgie { 02.23.13 at 9:45 pm }
30 Stacey { 02.23.13 at 11:24 pm }

Yeh I know who he is. I don’t think hes as anywhere hard enough looking to play Marco. And he has a whiney English voice. The movie would have to show a younger Gordon Ramsay too! Who could play him?

31 Anonymous { 02.23.13 at 11:37 pm }

I think if you go back to the Kevin Spacey idea for MCP.
I think there might be some facial similarity, and given KS’s acting ability, I think it might work.
Jeffrey Rush is also good and taking on another persona.

32 Dr T { 02.24.13 at 10:40 am }

Stacey – Cameron from MCP would have to be the young Gordon Ramsay

33 Daisy { 02.24.13 at 11:23 am }

Stacey, Dr T, I’d love to see Wags get a big break like that.
Being asked to play Gordon Ramsey by a Hollywood hevyweight, his little tail would go off.
Missing you Wags.

34 Daisy { 02.24.13 at 12:20 pm }

Bachette fans, don’t forget 2.00 today on GO.

35 Daisy { 02.24.13 at 11:37 pm }

Had a good look at MCP tonight and it’s Geoffrey Rush, definitely.
