Stop The Presses – Mel B May Be Stopped From Being A Judge On Australia’s Got Talent

Channel Seven might get the last laugh with news they have just this afternoon they have applied for an injunction in the Supreme Court to stop Mel B from going to be a judge on NINE’s Australia’s Got Talent.

The court has made temporary orders saying she cannot work for any Network other than SEVEN until 2014.

SMH has the yarn:

The Seven Network have moved to stop longtime rival Nine from poaching X Factor judge Melanie Brown to headline their reboot of Australia’s Got Talent.

Seven has commenced proceedings in the Supreme Court of NSW to protect its exclusive contractual arrangements with Mel B, the network said in a statement.

Today the court made temporary orders restraining Mel B from agreeing to appear on television for anyone other than Seven until January 2014.

A Seven spokesman declined to discuss the matter in detail.

Entertainment and TV commentator Peter Ford appears to have the inside gossip on why this court action is occurring.

It will be interesting to see how NINE respond will they fight it or will they just sign on another judge. Hello Sharon Osbourne perhaps?

Good God, let her go, they should be glad to see the back of her. Surely her contract with 7 must have been up if she’s signed with a US show. When they first got the show, I had read that they were trying to get Dannii Minogue to come with it, but didn’t want the others.
