Survivor Caramoan – The New Tribes Are Unbalanced
It was the fall out of the Brandon Hantz elimination with Special Agent Philip peeved that no one stepped up when Brandon was criticising him. He wasnted them to say he was not that type of guy that Brandon was describing. Also Corrine was miffed about that too and it seems she expected Dawn to be the one to do this. Clearly no on expected Erik to speak up as he doesn’t speak at all.
All of them were saying Brandon was crazy, something he denies in his interview with Reality Ravings here.
However Cochran wrapped it up nicely saying ” It was comforting to know that Brandon was able to successfully fly out of the cuckoos nest and now we are just left with Phillip”.
Then it was the big tribe shake up and it was not a good one for the game. All the alpha’s were on the one team. Or as Cochran called them “the Bold and the Beautiful”. Eddie, Reynold, Andrea, Malcolm, Sherri, Erik and Brenda were on the orange tribe, and the new purple tribe of Phillip, Corrine, Matt, Cochran, Dawn, Julia and Michael were the misfits.
As expected they struggled in challenges.
What was interesting in the orange tribe was Eddie and Reynold immediately tried to get Malcolm and Erik on side to vote Sherri out. And Sherri was pitching to Andrea and Brenda to that she wanted to Reynold to go. Clearly no love lost there.
Phillip was working the new members of his tribe telling Julia he liked to work with people who were extraordinary. Also he gave Matt and Michael the drill about Stealth R Us. The drill was if someone from his alliance comes and tells them to do something they do it and then they can become part of the alliance.
The immunity challenge was a debacle. The teams had to push heavy crates and for the first tiem ever I felt sorry for Phillip as he had to push a crate three times in a row. He is the oldest member of the tribe. They were way behind and then when it came to the puzzle part of the challenge they started fighting, which is never a good sign. Corrine wanted to just start placing the blocks, but Phillip was pissed saying he wanted to know it right so they would not have to move it again. They were flogged and now going to tribal.
It was always going to be one of the fans voted out, even though Corinne and Phillip hated each other they knew it was best for both of them to stick together at this stage. Julia neck was on the chopping block because she is weak in challenges however in the end they ended up gunning for likeable Matt. They were concerned about his strong bond with Michael and the possibility one of them might have an idol.
However what the tribe has done has sent home one of their most physically strong players weakening an already week tribe. It is Survivor 101 that you have to get to the merge and to do that you have to win challenges.
Jeff Probst talks to EW about the swap, saying that not all immunity challenges are based on the physical but later he states that the purple tribe start falling apart because of their physical weakness!
