Survivor Caramoan – The New Tribes Are Unbalanced

It was the fall out of the Brandon Hantz elimination with Special Agent Philip peeved that no one stepped up when Brandon was criticising him. He wasnted them to say he was not that type of guy that Brandon was describing. Also Corrine was miffed about that too and it seems she expected  Dawn to be the one to do this.  Clearly no on expected Erik to speak up as he doesn’t speak at all.

All of them were saying Brandon was crazy, something he denies in his interview with Reality Ravings here.

However Cochran wrapped it up nicely saying ” It was comforting to know that Brandon was able to successfully fly out of the cuckoos nest and now we are just left with Phillip”.

Then it was the big tribe shake up and it was not a good one for the game. All the alpha’s were on the one team. Or as Cochran called them “the Bold and the Beautiful”.  Eddie, Reynold, Andrea, Malcolm, Sherri, Erik and Brenda were on the orange tribe, and the new purple tribe of Phillip, Corrine, Matt, Cochran, Dawn, Julia and Michael were the misfits.

As expected they struggled in challenges.

What was interesting in the orange tribe was Eddie and Reynold immediately tried to get Malcolm and Erik on side to vote Sherri out. And Sherri was pitching to Andrea and Brenda to that she wanted to Reynold to go. Clearly no love lost there.

Phillip was working the new members of his tribe telling Julia he liked to work with people who were extraordinary. Also he gave Matt and Michael the drill about Stealth R Us. The drill was if someone from his alliance comes and tells them to do something they do it and then they can become part of the alliance.

The immunity challenge was a debacle. The teams had to push heavy crates and for the first tiem ever I felt sorry for Phillip as he had to push a crate three times in a row. He is the oldest member of the tribe. They were way behind and then when it came to the puzzle part of the challenge  they started fighting, which is never a good sign.  Corrine wanted to just start placing the blocks, but Phillip was pissed saying he wanted to know it right so they would not have to move it again. They were flogged and now going to tribal.

It was always going to be one of the fans voted out, even though Corinne and Phillip hated each other they knew it was best for both of them to stick together at this stage. Julia neck was on the chopping block because she is weak in challenges however in the end they ended up gunning for likeable Matt. They were concerned about his strong bond with Michael and the possibility one of them might have an idol.

However what the tribe has done has sent home one of their most physically strong players weakening an already week tribe. It is Survivor 101 that you have to get to the merge and to do that you have to win challenges.

Jeff Probst talks to EW about the swap, saying that not all immunity challenges are based on the physical but later he states that the purple tribe start falling apart because of their physical weakness!

Survivor Caramoan on GO Channel on Thursday at 7.30pm and repeated on GO at 4.30pm on Saturdays.

Enjoyed Corrine’s commentary last night re Phillip, “he needs a warm glass of shut the hell up” , “Annoying on a scale of 1 to sitting next to a cry baby on a plane, sitting next to a crying baby on a plane that has diarrhea is how annoying Phillip is!” LOL

I think last night was the first time I had heard Julia speak.

Whats going on with the Brenda edit, we see or hear nothing from her??

Hey RR. Reminds me of that horrible One World season where after a tribe shuffle, one tribe had all the athletic people on board whilst the other had all the uncoordinated people (i.e. Colton). No surprises at the blow-outs during “challenges.” If the next couple of challenges become embarassing, expect a tribe merge sooner rather than later.

Agree with you on Survivor 101 about Matt being the wrong boot. What’s the bet that the misfits lose again next week no matter the amount of editing red herrings? Apparently Julia really saved her hide with a stirring performance of charades that only Erik could understand since they have that special “mute” bond within the game.

Have you noticed Brenda has been limping and has her knee bandaged? I’m thinking she might end up leaving due to injury?

I remember Season 21: Nicaragua, quitters, Kelly S and Naonka pretty much go no air time….

I reckon the tribes will merge at 11 or 12 , which I think is only one/two more boots, so no loss for the Favs on Bikal since they still have 2 more fans they can get rid of . Regardless, a Fav will win this season…

I Really hope that now Dawn, Corrine and Cochran have the numbers they give Phillip the boot to wipe that smug smirk off his face. Soooo annoying the fact that he thinks he is running the show.

Really annoyed with the edit this season too, Would love to see more of Brenda and/or Julia and Erik, but it really seems to be the Phillip/Reynold show this season.

Gained a new appreciation of Corrine and still LOVE Dawn and Andrea. Erik seems cool too.

Agree re: Brenda we have barely seen her at all she is being overshadowed by a lot of the others

Yeah Corrinne was talking on Twitter about the edits. She said they all speak up all the time, but CBS just doesn’t always show it.

Apparently it’s Dalton Ross’s fault (he writes for EW magazine) that there have not been many puzzle challenges this season. He complained to Probst about there being so many puzzle challenges in the recent seasons. And it looks like he listened.

Well, there went my fave for this season – Matt really did have a very good social game…..why didn’t they get rid of that non-speaking Race-car driver….I was sure she was a goner once she had said a few bits to the camera! (Still haven’t caught on to your spider/snake/creepy crawly’s JStar!)

Have always loved an under dog so am jumping on the Michael or Sherri bandwagon now – even keeping Reynold/Eddie round will be good for the eye candy – just do not want a Fave winning – they had their chance!!!!

Agree with all on the Brenda edit……..whats going on?

Just read that on the French version someone died on the first day and they have cancelled it. Really shocking.
