The Biggest Loser – Contestants Removed But The Details Are Vague

The Biggest Loser for once kept a scandal under wraps until the series started screening this year. It has been reported in the SMH  based on a story in New Idea that two teams were removed after filming had started due to an incident, however they were never seen on air.

The SMH  writes:

Network Ten reality series The Biggest Loser has been affected by a scandal that resulted in at least two contestants and their families being removed from the series.

After weeks of rumours of an inappropriate relationship on the set of the series, Ten today admitted “an event” occurred early in this season’s production, involving “some contestants” which resulted in them being removed from the show.

It is believed none of the contestants seen on TV since the series premiered on March 17 was involved; the removal occurred before any episodes were screened.

“Very early in the process of putting together The Biggest Loser: The Next Generation, there was an event involving two contestants,” read a brief statement from Ten.

“In line with our strict duty of care obligations, the incident was referred to the relevant authorities. Therefore, we cannot comment any further other than to say that contestants were unable to continue with the show.”

It is believed planned segments of the series were rewritten to compensate for the missing families.

Last year Luke was left the series after he became aggressive after drinking alcohol and also Deryck Ward was removed after he had been charged with child porn offences, all traces of his appearance were removed in some interesting editing.

The Biggest Loser on TEN Sunday to Tuesday nights at 7.30pm.

Wow. I wonder what happened. We know romance is allowed (encouraged) so the fact they are calling this inappropriate and there are children on the show is concerning.
So they would have been in the original episodes but edited out? Interesting.

Seeing as though it’s the family series, I thought there must be some incest.
Ughh, they need to give more details. It sounds grubby

The producers should’ve known that a tantric yoga challenge, whilst providing a brisk cardio workout, complete with a ‘happy ending’ for a change, would only lead to complications (and torn hamstrings).

Thanks CB. Scary stuff.

Now if the BL contestants were doing yoga, or playing Twister, I might watch.

Maybe they could go on the Biggest Splash.

“our strict duty of care obligations”

What a crock that is.

Duty of care: allowing a personal trainer to practice psychology on the contestants. Does he have a degree? And will they be allowed to sue later for mal-practice?

Putting my dirty mind aside for one minute, maybe the explanation is simply that these contestants drew the line at a weekly krill oil enema.

If two teams were removed and ‘relevant authorities’ were notified it suggests to me the inappropriate ‘event’ occurred between a younger and older contestant.

Let’s hope that all sides are receiving proper professional counselling and also that justice is meted out to the offending party if deserved.

You may have just given Nature’s Way the idea for “Krill Oil Suppositories”, CB.

” They’re so effective, you can simply stick them up your arse”

So many levels of wrong. Not sure I -want- to know what happened. ಠ_ಠ

Hi, This story does not belong to the SMH. They ripped it off wholesale from New Idea – who broke the story – and gave the mag no attribution.
Cheers!

That’s just typical reality tv, anything to get more ratings *sigh*

Anon – oh naughty SMH will edit post to reflect this.

One of the contestants who was booted was a 15 year old girl… I know this as I attended the filming of the “Promise” event at Liverpool. Might be a case of statutory rape?…

Thanks, Bogspider. 15 is definitely jailbait.

King Richard and his pathetic daughter are the epitome of greed and selfishness. For people that would have been subject to all sorts of discrimination and unfair treatment, they don’t seem to have learn’t any lessons. If there is any justice they need to be eliminated ASAP.
