Masterchef Australia Promo – Looks Like Boys Versus Girls

Masterchef Australia must be coming soon to TEN as the first promo has been released. There looks like a culturally diverse set of contestants as well as some good looking ones.

Also there is the first look at the new slim lined George Calombaris.

Masterchef Australian on TEN coming soon.

Umm..I am going to concur that the ad is sexist and slightly offputting.

Team Grope* vs Team Growl**.

* “Kylie, that’s a cracking sauce. It’s amazing what you’ve conjured up after simmering Campbells Real Stock for 10 minutes. You deserve a hug.”

** “Hey, Sunshine. Bruce? What are you doing? This is Masterchef, mate. We expect a real sauce made from real ingredients. Haven’t you looked in the pantry? I’d start caramelising some veal bones quick smart. You’ve got 10 minutes. That’s ample time.”

The theme is “Music To Watch Girls By” by Tom Gaebel :)

7 Littlepetal { 04.24.13 at 8:16 pm }

Welcome back Paul, if you are the regular Paul on MC

8 Paul { 04.24.13 at 8:32 pm }

Nope, just regular Paul who does voice overs but can’t cook for s**t :)

9 Retero { 05.17.13 at 9:27 pm }

I like this ad. The woman are sassy and easy on the eye while the guys are just blokes being blokes. The way God intended.

I am horrified by the promos for Masterchef – far and away my (previously) favourite reality tv show. They had all the ugliness of Celebrity Apprentice, with the girly bitchiness of MKR and a bit of Farmer wants a Wife thrown in for good measure. Why spoil an incredibly successful, enduring, enjoyable and uplifting format for this rubbishy “battle of the sexes”, with of course the women being cast as the nasty ones in a cat fight over the shopping. Very disappointed.

I’m so excited to see this show. I’m also.excited. to see all three f them. Iknow that they.cheat but ohhhhh we can’t be that.harsh

12 Ace { 05.29.13 at 2:31 pm }

Looks like MKR rather than Masterchef. Very disappointed with the promos. Pink vs blue? – are you serious? I have always loved Masterchef because it’ssimply about the cooking. If I wanted gender stereotypes maybe I’d watch some 1950s tv!

‘Congratulations’- . . . . . . .
To the Producers, Backers and Sponsors of Master Chef 2013.
From the concept/idea – development/production – sponsorship/ backers – debut/growing success, from Adults to Junior Chefs across Australia.
You have finally taken this show – Down – to the ‘ Scum and Muck ‘ at the bottom of your ‘ Money Grubbing Feeding Frenzy Trough.’
Your past Adult contestants have been shown to be – Liars, Cheaters, Thieves, Sneaks, Mean, Spiteful Manipulators in trying and Win.
Now with – 2013’s – Adult contestants – You’ve managed to reach a ‘ Deeper Low ‘, before your first episode is even Broad-cast. Well Done. NOT ! ! !
From just your previews, it already has the contestants being condescending, rude, belittling, argumentative, ridiculing, uncompromising, using foul language and swearing, and calling others by derogatory slang names.
So it looks like you have all bases covered in your 2013 season of Master Chef, with Racism, Ethnicity, Religion, and last but by no means least, the JOKER in the deck, the Inequality and Discrimination of Women against Men.
Thank you so. so. so. so…. much for launching a very visual and public demonstration, of what you find acceptable behaviour.
To the producers and sponsors, – I do hope that people speak and behave, as your contestants, to your wives/partners and your children. As you’re quite happy to broadcast it nationally.
To the chefs/restaurant owners, -I can only hope that your customers treat you with as much rude and vulgar behaviour, that you appear to find acceptable on the show, and out in the public eyes and businesses.
To the contestants, – it is so gratifying to see and hear, how well your ‘PARENTS ‘ have raised you, regardless of your – religion, race, coloring, or and gender. You SHAME your parents and family, but most of all – Yourselves. What a pity.
How can we expect our children and grand-children to behave correctly and appropriately, at home or School, with you as public examples ? ? ? ?
For those who become contestants on Master Chef, they should all have to sign a ‘ Code of Conduct and Behaviour Contract.’
Televising them signing there individual contracts, publicly.
Thereby holding them accountable for there own actions.
If they are in breach of any condition(s) in there contract, they are immediately evicted from the show.
Displaying to contestants, and to the viewers young and old, that there are consequences for bad/wrong behaviour.
You can’t force feed ‘ right/wrong – do/don’t ‘ to the younger generations, when Adults refuse to show them by example.
My apologies to those who do the right thing, but I am so tired of seeing and hearing people behaving like ‘ a feral thing ‘ instead of descent ‘ Human Beings.’ Concerned Parent Grandparent.

Just watching Gary and George on the Project. Already they are pulling the women are better to show we are not chauvinistic pigs card. Lame lame lame.
Apparently this is because women know that food is all about the back story and when people go to a restaurant they go for the story rather than the food. Good grief.
I’ll probably still watch though.

15 Anna { 05.31.13 at 9:56 pm }

Annajjj, which one if them pulled that one out ??? Will not go to their restaurants when in Melb!!!

16 annajjj { 05.31.13 at 11:07 pm }

Anna Gary reckons people go to Georges restaurant because of the Greek heritage and his Greek mother or something along those lines. It was all pretty pathetic. I go out for the food, experience, atmosphere etc not for the back story or love infused food. Keep your love out of my meal thanks.

17 Anna { 05.31.13 at 11:31 pm }

annajjj, thank you and exactly!!!

We go out for the food / experience / atmosphere! Very few places offer all of the above and then some.

Boycotting George and Gazza for eternity :-)

18 Andrea { 06.01.13 at 7:27 am }

Someone on that panel last night mentioned that the word “moll” had been used among the contestants in the promos and George had a puzzled look on his face as if he didn’t know what they were talking about.
They then turned it into a joke about how to cook “mole” and what it tasted like, wasn’t very funny.
Hopefully when the show starts properly it will still be good to watch.

19 Anna { 06.01.13 at 9:36 am }

Saw another promo. Too many tears, the woman with a headscarf is crying & saying its not suppose to be this hard. The 50’s housewife is mumbling something similar.

Gazza is saying something about the worst dish ever. Does that mean that Julie’s sweat tastes good ?? Flavor enhancer?

Jowlsy is spewing crap like ‘if you have a culinary flaw, we will find it’

Unmm they are amatas…. They are yet to find their culinary path ….

20 Georgie { 06.01.13 at 9:50 am }

I don’t watch much on Ch10 so I’m not seeing the promos, which is probably a good thing. From what’s being said on the blog about it, I’m thinking – “so this is what your ‘sophisticated’ cooking show build-up is like hey”. All sounds pretty bogan to me. 😀

Whoopee hoohaa – Edit Time is baaack!!

21 brain dead dave { 06.01.13 at 1:13 pm }

“If you have a culinary flaw…we’ll find it , celebrate it and build the show around you but we’ll exhaust your back story first.

The $tockman has a back story and look out for Michael, the balding redhead who apparently has “a gift”…for undercooking stuff.

“The World’s Best Cooking Show”….Lol.

22 Littlepetal { 06.01.13 at 3:20 pm }

BDD, you are not the only one on Michael. Someone on another blog also mentioned that Michael is annoying him already. I must check which one is Michael

23 powerromesh { 06.22.13 at 3:29 am }

I would say that a CM’s responsibilities would not only be external but also internal. Its the middle role between the ops/s&m director(s) and the “shop floor”
A Marketing Managers responsibility is to ensure exposure and conversion working along side the purchasing and sales teams.

24 Andrea { 06.22.13 at 9:24 am }

RR, is it just me or do others have trouble understanding what some of these random people are talking about early in the morning such as @73?

25 Georgie { 06.22.13 at 10:06 am }

Andrea it’s blog spam. It’s sent out en masse over the net to lodge a link to another website – a bit like seeding with the wind. The hope is people will click the link/linked name and go to that site.

26 brain dead dave { 06.22.13 at 10:07 am }

They’re a relatively new kind of spammer,Andrea. They want us to click on their rotten links. In your dreams,gice.

Smartar$e Georgie beat me to it.

27 Andrea { 06.22.13 at 10:13 am }

Whats the point of going to their dumb sites anyway?
Thanks gice, you learn something everyday.

28 Georgie { 06.22.13 at 10:17 am }

Ltic bdd.

Andrea sometimes it’s just a marketing ploy but it’s also used to spread malware and other harmful viruses. Best practice is to leave it alone just in case.

29 Littlepetal { 06.22.13 at 5:05 pm }

Thanks guys for the info. Now I know why.

30 Eliza { 06.22.13 at 6:10 pm }

I noticed one of these I think on another thread. They must be new as I haven’t seen them before. Spammers are the worst. Like the ones that call you up to tell you there is something wrong with your computer and you say, “huh? I don’t have a computer…” and wait for the silence on the other end.

31 Littlepetal { 06.22.13 at 6:17 pm }

There are some that popped up in some old threads and said something about such a good blog and he or she will check again for the excellent blog
