My Kitchen Rules – Even Contestants Admit They Can’t Cook
In a cracker TV Week article this week has a lot of juicy gossip on the My Kitchen Rules teams.
First Chris and Sam admit they made up their application form. Chris told TV WEEK ” Sam and I made up our entire application pricess – it was a whole lot of lies to get us on the show.”
He added ” We said we cooked for our families all the time, but we hadn’t cooked together before the show. My dad never thought I could cook – he still doesn’t!”.
To think two non-cooks made it to finals week! Which raises the question are they actually cousins? And isn’t Chris going into a catering business with Kerrie?
Also the article reveals Melina nd Angela’s friend ship is over. Mike said “Ange asked more dumb questions than I’ve ever heard in my life. Poor Melina was rolling her eyes. They barneyed a bit, as Melina is always getting more attention, but Melina is always going to get more attention because she has a personality.”
It is not like Mike is a rocket scientist either however he has managed to ink a deal with a Tassie radio.
But I do agree with his view on Luke and Scott’s food as he thinks they should not have made the finals. He told the mag “Luke ad Scott’s food had no flavour – others said the same”.
Other gems from the TV Week article are:
- Dan and Steph are hoping to win the $250,000 to pay for IVF;
- Jo and Jenna went through a rough patch after the show finished but they are now all good;
- Mick was not keen to come back to Comeback Kitchen, he did not want to cook again and since he had returned home to Tassie had not cooked at all; and
- He also said he did not like being told what to do all the time and said this might have contributed to his crabbiness.
Also because being on a reality show does not pay well, which means contestants take a financial hit particular on these shows like this one and Masterchef which can have a long filming schedule. Something they should acknowledge and increase the pay for the contestants who are filming longer.
Mick said he suffered financially as a result of being on the show. Though he admits he got the experience of a life time and they got their radio gigs. Dan and Steph also suffered as well as Steph had difficulty finding work on her return.
