Survivor Caramoan – Two Tribals – Two Gone

It was an action packed episode and John Cochran is becoming such an alpha male it is only a matter of time before he is offered a season on The Bachelor.

It was a good episode here are a few thoughts:

  • Paranoia is starting to set in and this could be seen in the first immunity challenge of the night when neither Andrea and Brenda would not give up the chance for the immunity necklace;
  • Andrea was peeved that Brenda battled it out and was going for her to be voted out;
  • Andrea also shared the immunity idol clue with her alliance, Erik found it and then handed it over to her when will he ever learn that he can actually keep an immunity idol
  • Dawn was just as paranoid and told Jeff at tribal that she had lied to people and that is where her paranoia came from;
  • After Reynold was voted off at the first tribal of the episode the main alliance became paranoid about each other and Andrea wanted to vote Brenda off. Cochran who was suss about Andrea and who she wanted to take to final three instigated the blind side on Andrea;
  • Andrea has a crush on Eddie and Cochrane was not happy about it when she told Cochrane that she wanted Eddie to go to final three. Cochrane said Eddie would win the jury vote.
  • Andrea was blindsided she had the opportunity to play her idol but didn’t, on leaving she said that was good that was really good.
  • Malcolm and Reynold were happy on the jury as they probably could not believe Eddie was still there.

Great blind slide, she was a good player and unfortunately had to go…. Hope Cochrane safe in coming week…..think Dawn might pay him back?
What the hell is Sherri still doing there??

Sherri will just make it before F3 before she is given the boot.

Reynold’s vote was predictable but what’s the go with the porn moustache after getting cleaned-up at Ponderosa? I hope that Ponderosa clip answers some questions! Still, I’m sure his interview with RR will be fascinating as he apparently spent some time in Australia.

Andrea’s vote off was the surprise. I would have bet that it was Brenda’s time to go as I had interpreted her snarky tweets about Andrea (months before the cast was confirmed) meant that she was the victim of a blindside instigated by Andrea. Clever cookie worked it out before it was too late. Don’t feel too bad for Andrea and her girly crush. I’m sure it won’t be long before Eddie is asked to pose for the latest charity calendar to raise money for his fellow firemen to buy a shiny new truck.

Great to finally see some overt gameplay from Brenda. Pity though that she broke Survivor Rule # 7 – “Never say you trust someone with your life/ I will never vote you off” a couple of weeks ago after she found Dawn’s retainer. Dawn has backstabbed a lot of people in this game and is getting the “Final 3 goat” edit. Brenda will not see it coming and it is going to cut really deep.

Jstar- yeah the ponderosa video reveals that Reynold was going for a shock value with the moustache, but probably shaves it off later because he is interviewing at ponderosa without a moustache

Should be interesting to see who gets in final 3, I’d be even more interested if Cochran would gets booted before, but dont see it happening

First time commenter….long time stalker on here and Facebook. I loved this episode last night. These favourites are certainly starting to have to think about their end game strategy. My shoe in for the final three would have to be Sheree. Who wouldn’t take her? She is a nobody and has done nothing. I reckon the final three could easily be Cochrane, Sheree and Eddie. Cochran would win in a land slide.

Still not over Malcolm being voted off and the weakest (bloody Dawn!) controlling the game.

Gives me the shites.

Also loved the double elimination last night. I really hope Cochran gets to final three. I want Dawn gone next.

Hope nobody minds me giving my thoughts on the lead up to the finale!!! bring it on.

Sherri has done a great job of hanging in there & now is firmly entrenched in the fav’s camp. Note that Jeff refered to Eddie as the only fan left in the game. Sherri has moved herself nicely thru the game, firstly dealing with the whole Shemar drama & navigating thru the tribe mix up & then the merge alligning herself with the right people Andrea & Phillip firstly then Malcolm, Eddie & Reynold. (tho not taking advantage of voting with them at a crucial stage, she still didnt manage to piss them off). Although not strong in the challenges she has played the perfect social game & with each of the jury members so far, I beleive she is sitting nicely having not burnt any of them. I see her at the end with Cochran & unfortuately & I hate to say it Dawn will be there also. Cochran has played a strong strategic game & won immunity on a few occasions, the jury should reward him for that & Dawn will get roasted & probably will need therapy to get over it. (payback is a bitch)

@chasingvegas. Bring on the speculation! I agree. I e-mailed RR and mentioned that I thought Phillip’s interview was revealing. He mentioned that during the night he was sent home (after Malcolm revealed the two hidden immunity idols) he heard his name, Andrea’s, and Sherri’s name tossed around. We only saw Andrea being targeted. There was no need to show Sherri being targeted because no story arc would need to be created for her in the editing suite as she is not in any danger. I think it is reasonable to bet she is in the Final 3.

I’m almost certain Dawn is in the Final 3 as she has been shown backstabbing so many people (and then having meltdowns later). Francesca, Corrine, Malcolm, Andrea, etc. Brenda will soon feel the knife in her back probably at the Final 4 Tribal. She is going to be crucified at the Final Tribal. Can we all prepare ourselves for the waterworks now?

As for Cochran, I so want him to be in the Final 3. He has had a confessional in every episode but the thing is, Cochran, like Penner last season, are brilliant orators. They give hilarious one-liners and soundbites. The amount of screentime Cochran should not be confused with his ultimate longevity in the game. He got confessionals in every episode the first time he played although he ended up placing mid-jury. Still, his edit has been good so far……

I don’t get all the Dawn hate :(

I remember her on South Pacific, Cochrane flipped on his whole tribe sending each one of them home.. Dawn had the oppurtunity to stick with Cochrane but did the humble thing and voted with the dead ducks. I am suprised the silly woman aligned with him and gave him a second chance.

cochran is getting a bit cocky, although he is the smartest and most strategic of who’s left

12 Daisy { 05.03.13 at 7:02 pm }

OMG Malcom is on B&B today. It couldn’t be better. I hope they keep him, until he gets a real acting roll.
Oh pleeeese go for Hope or Steph. He’s stiil hot, hot, sizzling hot. WHere is Sizieque. You have to check out Malcom.

13 Weeezza { 05.03.13 at 10:25 pm }

I interpret cochrane’s cocky side to be tongue in cheek.
He’s amused by his own success so far.

14 Calliegirl { 05.04.13 at 6:21 am }

Daisy I loved seeing Malcom on Bold last night. He looked as cheeky as ever. And it would be fantastic if he could be a new love interest for either Hope or Steffy – at least some competition for the insipid Liam!

15 Daisy { 05.04.13 at 10:04 am }

Yes Callie, wasn’t he adorable. It looked like he was ready to burst out laughing. I hope he takes acting lessons because I’d love to see more of him. Anyway no acting required fro B&B so I wish they would have him on to crack onto both the girls.
And BTW Taylor was an obvious manipulator, playing the victim.

16 PollyB { 05.04.13 at 8:10 pm }

I finally got to see this today. I agree Weeezza, I think Cochrane is taking the piss, it is the edit making him appear cocky. God I hope he gets through. And wins.
Cochrane, Eddie & Brenda for final 3 for me. I’m over the other 3.

17 Izobel2 { 05.04.13 at 11:14 pm }

Agree PollyB & Weeezza!
Still on Team Cochran, he’s my favourite.

18 Daisy { 05.04.13 at 11:55 pm }

I think Cochrane has a pretty accurate self-image. He knows he’s not one frat boys, but he doesn’t allow that to make him feel inferior. He has a sense of humour about his own geekiness.

Does anyone else find those monkey creatures with the huge eyes really creepy? They are the weirdest looking creatures.

I’ve been wondering too why the hell Sherri is still there.

I think reading all the different blogs around, that I am the only person who thinks the immunity idol was rightfully Andrea’s. She won immunity and the clue to the whereabouts of the idol. She didn’t have to share with them all, but she did. They all went looking together, but whoever found it should give it to her. Well, that’s the way I saw it.

That was a great blindside. The look on Andrea’s face when she saw her name come up twice and yelling what at the top of her voice. But she took it in good grace and not all bitter and twisted like some have done. Be interesting to see at the final tribal if those who ‘betrayed’ her are in the final 3 if she takes it out on them.

20 PollyB { 05.05.13 at 9:03 am }

Carole – I used to be creeped out by those eyes, but now I love them. They are so big and innocent and trusting to me.
I’m glad Andrea was blindsided, but she was entitled to the idol.

I wonder if we get the finale when the US does, it’s on Sunday over there, which is Monday here. Hope we don’t have to wait till Thursday, too easy to have spoilers. At least 7Mate are having the Amazing Race finale on Tuesday, was worried they may split it.

22 Carole { 05.06.13 at 9:33 am }

Just got next weeks TV Week, and the Survivor finale is on Monday night at 8.30, so we are getting it a few hours after the US. And those who watch The Amazing Race, the finale is tomorrow night, it is a double episode.

23 JStar { 05.06.13 at 8:57 pm }

Let’s hope the finale is on next Monday. Don’t want last minute switches to the schedule that Channel 9 is well known for lately – (hello, how many times was Arrow supposed to premiere earlier this year?). Hearing terrible rumours of returning players coming back for a gimmicky theme next season. Bleh! Will discuss after finale. Let’s hope that it doesn’t come to fruition.

24 Reality Raver { 05.06.13 at 9:02 pm }

Jstar and Carole interesting they must get rid of a couple on Thurs night as well.

25 JStar { 05.06.13 at 9:26 pm }

RR. With 6 people left, I suspect we will go back to the usual final-five for the last episode. I think last season was the exception where the producers experimented with a final-four for the final episode. I suspect only one person will be eliminated on Thursday – being Day 36. Then two more will go on Day 37 and 38 to have the Final 3.

Do you know if you will be interviewing Reynold and Andrea separately or will it be together like in the US media? (I guess questions about Reynold’s recent wedding, despite getting a bit too cozy to one of the blondes whilst filming – and possibly engaged at the time – is out of the question?) I hope you haven’t been warned off to much by the minders after unearthing the great Houdini-act Brandon pulled off at Ponderosa thanks to the lovely Julia!

26 Techhater { 05.06.13 at 9:32 pm }

Thursday night’s ep only an hour long so maybe double elimination. Will be a good watch for sure.

Marco Pierre White’s Kitchen Wars finale also on Thursday.

27 Carole { 05.07.13 at 1:41 pm }

Yeah that sounds about right JStar, next Monday’s a double then the reunion show. And don’t forget those who watch The Amazing Race, the finale is tonight on 7Mate at 6.30. It’s 2 hours. And so far I’ve managed to avoid spoilers, the first time for a while I haven’t found out who won beforehand.
