The Block – More Drama Than Reno

Bec and George’s builder Tom appears to be casting gold for The Block as it appears he is going to clash with everyone. Well except for Bec and George as George seems slightly in awe of him.

Keith is keeping his powder dry but you know there is going to be a brouhaha at some point.

The issue tonight was Kim and Matt wanting to look at a carpet sample and the only one was in Bec and George’s apartment. Tom was not letting them have it to have a look at it. Matt ended up ringing George who showed it to them and tried to save face with Tom for agreeing to it by saying he only showed one of the samples not both of the ones they were considering having in their apartment.

Or maybe that whole scene was just a set up so Carpet Call could be mentioned multiple times….

It appears to be two cliques on The Block the top three floors and the bottom two which is Qld, NSW and Vic versus WA and SA.

Lysandra and Alisa were having a bad day, their insulation guys did not do it properly and it would need to be redone. What was interesting were they were not going to remove the vermiculite ceiling. I was under the impression that to do the ceiling properly it had to be removed as Bec and George had difficulties the first week nail gunning the gyprock on.

It was Bec’s birthday and a surprise party was planned and she got very emotional when she saw her mother there as she has been in hospital with cancer. Hopefully she will be OK and her chemotherapy works.  George did not look too enthusiastic when Bec mentioned that if they win money from being on the show they should pay for her mum’s cancer treatment.

After getting the bad news about insulation the twins stormed off missing Bec’s birthday BBQ in the park. Promos show they do come back. Tomorrow is a challenge day.

The Block Sky High on NINE at 7.00pm weeknights.

I think Tom was meant to be cast on Underbelly and not this. Classic stuff listening to him white anting the silverback Keith.

Yes, Tom looks very intense.

I haven’t been wowed by any of the teams yet. All a bit meh and too much dark coloured carpet. Why dark carpet? It sucks the light and life out of a room.

The Block is fast going the way of Kitchen Rules with the program topic merely there to provide a backdrop to the drama.

That’s a great way if putting it annajjj.

I agree with annajjj.

Far too much “personal drama” and insufficient “renovations”. Although, it is somewhat understandable since the contestants only appear to do demolition, painting and shopping for their rooms while everything else is done by the various tradies.

Grey is the new beige.

Agree!!

Too much shopping & drama not enough of renovating. Daimn Triexter has shopping stamina, over an hour of yammering & chewing sales woman’s ear off …

Surely all that can be done in half the time!!!!

Don’t want to see WOW Reno promo for Sunday night, as I’m yet to be impressed … Almost like the judges on MKR this lot refuses to be brutally honest. Where is Colin’s equivalent in the design world??

Can someone please tell me why the flick Scotty had to be center of attention at Bec’s birthday???

George expects to win weekly … Delusional much ???

This season contestants are just too beige

There had been a lot of complaint about too many challenges, which I did not agree, since it is hard to feel a daily show with just reno work if the work is being done by tradies. I rather see challenges then all this phony drama. So now we get soap opera everyday.

Thought it was a touch distateful that Kate Miller-Heidke’s The Last Day on Earth was playing during the “emotional” scene with the Mum. Thankfully, I don’t think they played the chorus.

Rocky, the show doesn’t NEED to run for 60 min, 30 is more then enough. Surely editing can find enough bloopers and snafus to run 30 min without repeats….

Anna we both agree. The Block only needs 30 minute shows until reveal day. They are trying to stretch out something, when there is only nothing.

Rocky, I’ve noticed that MKR did same this year, undoubtedly MC will follow suit.

Not watching The Voice as Delta and Seal annoy the crap out of me and not Loser as I cannot stomach Michelle nor Shannon.

US shows tend to move faster, and get to the point straight away instead of spewing garbage ala Jowlsy
