The Bachelor Australia Has Started Filming

It’s official we are definitely getting our own Aussie version of The Bachelor, as filming is starting today.

The Bachelor if it sticks to the US format is where 25 girls compete for the one guy. It is huge in the USA and when showing takes up inches of media space. Network TEN will be hoping for the same effect here.

The Daily Telegraph revealed the mansion in Bayview where the show will be shot, and that the filming commences today 9 July.

The article states:

A multi-million-dollar Bayview home has reportedly been chosen as the production set for the first Australian version of hit reality television show The Bachelor.

Residents living close to 68 Minkara Rd in Bayview recently received letters from production company Shine Australia outlining the filming schedule for the anticipated show, a resident has told The Daily Telegraph.

The letter said the filming period would be July 9 to September 15. There would only be an estimated 23 days of filming over that period.

The company would also film aerial footage next Wednesday.

No word on who the actual bachelor is yet.

The Bachelor Australia to screen on Network TEN later this year.

I was getting excited until I saw the word ~ “$hine”.

Can this hold a candle to the excellent Chinese dating show on SBS? Nah.

Can. Not. Wait!! I hope they do a good job, too. I had been watching Bachelor Pad on Go on and off and man, the US does some great tacky reality ‘drama’.

Anyone remember Temptation Island? Used to watch that with my mum when it was on. Kind of inappropriate now I think about it as I was kind of young but would be funny if someone brought that back.

Littlepetal, I think the Chinese dating show is worthy of BDD. It’s funny and interesting and sadistic all at once :)

Was it last week when the girls were ‘selling’ themselves so that the guy would pick them.
